We were in a room that at first looked fine, but without heating. I really wanted to get the hot towel rail working in the bathroom but that didn’t work. I wanted to have a bath but after seeing hairs around the bath I decided to shower.

Excellent stay, quiet room and good food. I suggest staying in the main building, as the annexe is far from everything, and the path between the annexe and the main building can get slippery on rainy days (and it rains a lot in England). The wine list and beer selection need improvement.

A lot of younger staff lacking professionalism. A few friendly faces but some quite rude staff who clearly hate their jobs. Breakfast is advertised until 10am but we arrived at 9:40am after a late night working and was told it finished at 9:30am. Was very disappointed. Staff gave us a plate of random leftovers which we appreciated but was not what we were hoping for. The hotel is ok but not worth the money we paid

Had a lovely stay while on a work training course at this really lovely hotel. Clean room, yummy breakfast and gorgeous surroundings.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was really helpful and take care of my allergic condition which was serious and I didn’t expect that I would find something to eat at the beginning. It was a lovely dinner that thanks to the chef and staffs. They are really excellent. The restaurant is cosy, and welcoming.

A lovely sprawled out estate with plenty of amenities. The room was very nice with 2 fridges which was a bonus. It was tastefully decorated and pleasant to be in. I used the gym for a decent workout and had a great shower afterwards. Breakfast was a delicious buffet with lots of options available. Parking was ample. The stay provided great value for money with this being the second De Vere hotel I have stayed at.

The bar and restaurant staff are friendly even though the food is mostly bland or bad. The front desk staff are hit or miss. They don’t answer the phone from the internal lines. The floors are loud and creaky - I needed to sleep with my white noise machine on high to drown it out. But I will say the hotel and grounds are pretty. Everything was clean and well decorated.

Rooms were miles away from the main building (got soaked in the rain getting to the room). Service in the restaurant was dreadful. I was eating alone, the restaurant was pretty empty, however it took 20 minutes just to place my order - staff kept ignoring me. I was offered some water for the table - then charged £5 for this - it was just added to my bill!! I had scampi and cold chips with a flat pint of lager which cost £34 in total and took 1 hour. Rooms were clean and tidy and reception staff were friendly. Just steer clear of the restaurant.

Was a small but functional room I stayed in. Was clean and tidy. Breakfast was great with a good variety of items. The only minor issue was the bath panel had some water damage and really needs replacing.

Grumpy reception staff on checkout and the hotel was a bit scruffy. But ok.

Lady at check in was not particularly welcoming & seemed stressed. She did not explain anything (ie whereabouts of restaurant, additional holding fees onto credit card etc). Upgraded Room was adequate but radiator red hot & didn’t turn down. Outside guttering leaking badly so a constant noise of dripping water throughout the night as it was raining. Breakfast in 1838 restaurant very noisy, tables not cleared/clean quickly and not a very nice ambiance for a leisurely breakfast.

This place was beautiful. You can just feel the history here. Their main restaurant food not so good but breakfast was ok. But everything else was fantastic. Staff were amazing and kind. Grounds were stunning. Definitely recommend for a stay. Had some cute ladybugs in our room. I believe they are good luck so they were welcomed!
