It was very nice

This stay was so lovely for the family and the pool a big hit for the kids. Room was so spacious and clean. Massive breakfast selection so something for everyone. Can't fault it.

From checking in to checking out, I can’t fault the staff and the hotel in terms of service. The room was immaculate and love the bathroom decor. Only gripe is the £8 parking, for those staying a night at the hotel it should be free in my opinion or at least half rate.

Paying for parking is probably deltas way of recouping their investment buying this particular location. But unnecessary if you're paying to stay at a hotel of high standards! The pool was dirty. The gym is in need of an intense makeover.

Great stay, very clean and friendly!

The hotel was nice and somw of the staff were excellent but we had some items go missing from our room including medication. We also had the soap dispenser leak into our wash bag, and the toilet seat kept falling off. It could have been a good stay but sadly wont be returning.

Loved our stay, there were some doggies left in their rooms barking near ours but overall the hotel was beautiful

Staff were lovely, no shower gel in en-suite, and breakfast food was dreadful. The breakfast food appeared to have been under the hot lamp for a few hours. The scrambled eggs were cremated as was the bacon, grilled tomato, beans and mushrooms. I had onion on the hash brown (no onion on the menu or buffet trays, so where was that from ?). All in all, not great :(

We arrived early evening, it was very chaotic at the desk. I was told that the parking machine was broken, so i had to download the app and i was limited with time to pay for this. So i had to rush out to the car park to sort this out leaving my bag whilst managing my young child. Once this was sorted i went back in to check in. The female staff member handed me the key and told us what number our room was. I was very disappointed with check in, nothing was explained, i.e the pool times, location, how the room tidy service works, WI FI. As it was late we ordered room service. The food took a long time, so i called down to be told in quite a kurt voice 'i'll have to check with the chef', it just seemed like i was asking for too much?!? After our day out on the saturday, we returned to the room to see it hadn't been serviced. When i called down she upruptly told me that all the information is on a notice in the room and i needed to request this. This is very poor as the notice looks like advertising and it wouldn't be something i would have noticed. I therefore had to request clean towels and coffee which was also missing from the room. To top it off the coffee (starbucks) machine was broken on the last day! The hotel is nice and was clean, but the service wasn't great. All matters related to the stay should be informed on check in, i shouldn't have to be left to find all of this out on my own or by having to call down to reception.

Booked twin beds double room a bit of a tight squeeze beds for two adults and two infants would have been better if could join the beds but overall stay was good the kids enjoyed it and facilities was great. Plenty of free street parking around. We're unable to provide halal breakfast alternatives but happily provided us with vegetarian options

We enjoyed our stay for three nights in spring with my family. Okay value for a large family room for four, 2x king size beds. Plus a swimming pool. Arrived 4pm, reception staff were professional, helped with our bags. The reception area has style, with marble floors, large staircase etc. For me the best looking part of the hotel. The room was modern, clean and had good facilities. Beds were comfortable. A safe, drinking water, mini fridge, iron, kettle etc. Breakfast had a good cooked selection, plus some cold. Service was good, sometimes a bit slow. The menu for lunch and dinner was ok, but we mainly went local. There are a few good local restaurants, pubs, plus sainsbury's, gardening centre, etc. We also went to Colchester zoo nearby. Hotel has sufficient parking at £8/ night, priced high in my opinion. The bar was bright, clean, staff helpful. Some items to consider. 1.The view out of our room window had a large skip and some long standing rubish. The hotel must clear this up. 2.The swimming pool has time restrictions for kids and is shared with clubs etc. We can work around this, but i didn't see it in the brochure. Plus the pool changing rooms are in a poor condition. Pool etc. was only a 3 star rating. Item 3. Cleaning or refreshing of the rooms and drinking water is only carried out when you request from reception, no daily refesh. We got drinking water from the bar, a bit of a pain to do each day. 4. Our room telephone didn't work at all, we did report first day.

Das Zimmer war an sich sehr gut. Sauber und groß, auch das Badezimmer, und das WLAN war schnell. Aber man muss taub sein, um da schlafen zu können. Es war sehr laut. Die Wände waren wohl dünner als die Papierwände in einem japanischen Haus. Ich konnte meine Nachbarn besser hören als mich selbst, obwohl sie sich eigentlich nur normal unterhielten. Ich werde nie wieder da übernachten.

Bedrooms are outstanding Check in staff are outstanding Bar and coffee shop staff limited availability to get a drink at the bar or order food. Long wait waiting for staff to be called. Facilities, dining room and swimming pool need refurb as dated - but pool is clean.

An excellent property for stay with family.

The twin room were tight and not enough for 2 adults, 2 children as stated on the booking with small beds Otherwise friendly staff and nice time we had for a family friendly adventure
