Booking hadn’t come through to the hotel so no room was available straightaway had to wait almost an hour to be sorted even though we paid in full and had the receipt to prove this. We were left to one side while others kept coming in and being shown to their rooms. We were then offered a room in the apartments where one staff member wouldn’t show us because of the access and once there we know why .on going into the room it was unacceptable it had a very strop smell of cigarette smoke, so off we went again for another wait we were finally offered a room on the very top floor which wasn’t the best.

We stayed at don valley hotel because we were picking our son up to bring back to Carlisle we had a drink in the bar and everyone was so friendly and welcoming we met a few regulars Nev what a lovely bloke we spent a few hours talking to him and learning a thing or two and even got us to buy a bottle of the famous Hendersons relish from behind the bar to say we will be back is a definite yes absolutely cracking place and the car park was secure too

Clean room nice staff

Room is just terrible. The room was extremely small. The bed size was not appropriate for a couple was a full size only. Not even shampoo or soap, very , very poor. I do not recommend.

Great staff

The whole experience was poor. My wife was checking in late at night, should have been a smooth experience but she was pressurised to show driving licence as a form of ID when just the booking confirmation should have sufficed. There was karaoke until the early hours (its a pub so some noise is expected but it wasn't clear on the booking page). Biggest issue is that she just generally felt unsafe being there.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Check in was quick and smooth. Parking on site was tricky but manageable as very small. Was £5 extra on top to park on site. Room was decent. Although the double bed was quite small. Got very warm in the room at night even with window open. Definitely needs a fan in there. Was very loud outside with cars passing but expected with being on a main road. Deli bar cafe was lovely. Had a sausage sandwich for breakfast which was tasty and good prices. It was only about 10 minute walk to utilita arena and valley Centertainment which was ideal for us.

Quirky, non corporate joy. Like a breath of fresh air, they do things their way. Real people, not the identical robots normally churned out by capitalism. I loved it! Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, breakfast was great value. Great staff

Well I have stayed here a few times now and last night I booked a room for a night they upgraded me to a apartment what was so nice clean looked brand new will definitely be booking again

Very friendly staff and customers. A clean and warm room with a comfortable bed resulting in a good nights sleep.

This was my second time staying here and it won't be my last. It's such a welcoming place with very friendly staff. The beds are comfortable and everything is clean.

The building and contents were 'tired'. Over priced for the condition of the premises. Mattress was too big for the base. Breakfast was cold. Staff were friendly.

Its lush here rooms lovely, friendly staff, friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting and staying more often.

A very nice stay

Einfaches Hotel, dass ich wegen einem Konzertbesuch in der Nähe gebucht hatte (daher war der Preis aufgrund der Nachfrage auch recht hoch). Es gibt einen schönen Pub, einen angrenzenden Sandwich-Shop und das Personal ist sehr nett.

Just the job. Clean, comfortable and close to the Don Valley Bowl. Staff very friendly and lively bar in the evening. Will stay again whenever we go to an event.
