Staff were fantastic especially Al in the spa and the waitress serving breakfast both mornings. Room was very clean. Loved the heated outdoor pool. Breakfast was delicious especially the cooked breakfast.

部屋は綺麗ですが、二階に上がるのは階段しかないので重い荷物を持っている場合は気合入れて二階に行く覚悟が必要です。フロントの方は非常に丁寧ですが、朝食は注文してからでてくるのに時間がかかりました。

I booked this hotel because it advertised that it had a gym, and that's a priority for me when I'm away with work. When I arrived and enquired about the gym opening times, I was told it was closed until August - I was so disappointed.
They did upgrade me to a suite but I was very disappointed in that too. The light switches were faulty, and patio area was just covered in cobwebs and the patio door would only lock if it were left slightly ajar.
Not a great experience, I won't be staying here again.

A comedy of errors and terrible maintenance. I’ll touch on just the major stuff but note that that there way more issues if you care about a place being a nice place to stay - this IS NOT IT.
Upon arrival all looked okay, they told us about the facilities and where the room was etc; nothing out the ordinary. The room I got - the President Suite - was comically large with bed at one end and the tv at the other making it unusable being so far away. It seemed dated and badly maintained but fine for my needs working away.
Anyway, I headed for the gym immediately only be told it’s closed with no cause and no date/time for when when it’d be operational again. At reception they had no idea about it despite telling us 10 minutes earlier that it was open.
In the night I found out the AC had been powered off (during a heatwave) and in the morning I found out that there was no toilet roll in my bathroom AND that a huge clump of hair had been left in bath.
Reported the issues to reception before leaving for work for the day and asked that the cleaners leave all curtains closed to try and keep the heat out, that they sort the hair out and they ensure toilet roll is done. On return, curtains were closed, loo roll added but the hair was still there!!!
During the stay, I had to have cold showers only, pressure was terrible and water practically stopped twice. Colleagues of mine staying at the same time reported the same issues with their AC and showers too.

No air con on my room as it was broken! And they didn’t have another room for me. The room was ok, but very dark as I needed to keep the curtains shut to keep out the sun and there was only one very old bedside table lamp. I stayed for 2 nights but my room wasn’t serviced. I seriously question the 4* rating here, although the pool area was lovely

Sadly this was the worst hotel stay I've ever had.
We arrived for early check in at 11am to be informed that there was no power and this had been the case all morning, the staff did not think to call ahead to inform us of this before our arrival. This meant we were unable to use air con/ fans during the heatwave, turn lights on, use phone chargers or any amenities in the room. The bathroom had no windows and because there was no power for the lights to work, it was unsafe to use the shower because it was pitch black all day. The power did not come back on in our room at all in the 24 hours we were there.
The room it's self was very dated, poor cleanliness and the upkeep in general.was of a very low standard.
When raising this to the manager I was told I would be refunded the £20 early check in fee and a small percentage of the stay. This is incredibly disappointing as we have spent just under £100 for a bed in a hot and unclean room.
I would not recommend this hotel and I will never be returning.

Unfortunately, this was not the best stay. We arrived to find there was no electricity in the hotel, and this was communicated very poorly. As a result, the restaurant and bar were closed, which was extremely disappointing. Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay. The spa was satisfactory, but it wasn’t enough to make up for the issues we experienced.

Hotel is a bit run down but clean. Had a few issues with our stay that would prevent using again. Room AC was broken so they put a large fan in the room and left window open. Woken up at 5 from noise outside which is not ideal for a relaxing spa trip. Bathroom sink didn't work so had to use bath for water. Breakfast was chaos. 2 staff on, no tables set up, had to find own cutlery and no-one come to serve us. Used the buffet which was not the plan and left.
Used the spa as well. Wife and i both had hour body massages. Amazing from Karen who my wife had and has been raving about. Rest of spa nice and heated pool lovely, although outside needs some maintenance.

Decor was very dated and looks nothing like the pictures, I had an executive double that I paid extra for !! WiFi was useless and could hardly operate my laptop with the weak signal, from the 4 windows all I could see was badly maintained rooftops, shower door was broken and replaced with a mouldy curtain and the sink took forever to empty
Glasses in the bar were filthy, knives couldn’t even cut toast and there was a breakfast menu and hardly anything on the menu was availing

We recently stayed at the Frederick Hotel & Spa in Maidenhead and felt like extras in a low-budget horror-comedy. The property is charmingly stuck in a bygone era—peeling wallpaper, threadbare carpets, and dated finishes that scream “renovate me.” Our suite’s bed was a medieval plank and the pillows were wafer-thin relics. Housekeeping was inconsistent: rooms often weren’t cleaned, coffee capsules were never replenished, and one visit merely left two towels and bottled water.
In-room communication was non-existent—only a non-working bathroom phone—so any request required a pilgrimage to the front desk. Bathroom repairs looked like a caulk enthusiast’s hobby rather than a proper renovation, and dust collected in corners as if on purpose. The gym was disappointing: treadmills, ellipticals, and vibration machines out of service, plus a poorly maintained weight station.
The “Room Bar” fridge was an amusing survivor—empty, dented, and battle-scarred, but it did reliably keep things cold. Staff were pleasant but the operation felt understaffed and under-resourced.
If you want quirky character, this hotel has it; if you want comfort, cleanliness, and functioning facilities for the price, look elsewhere. We won’t be returning.

Not the first time we have stayed here, but sadly seems to be in a steady decline.
Room was dusty, and cobwebs, the furnishings are worn and just doesn't feel clean.
Our biggest issue though was being told the restaurant closed about 8pm at 7.55pm, a Hotel on a Saturday evening not serving food, added to that the bar was closed too.
Not what you would expect from what should be a great hotel experience, staff all seemed very indifferent.
