Stayed here a few times now. Always very well priced, very clean rooms and great breakfast in the morning.

Great location - right in the centre of Frome (Market Square). Welcoming staff. Good value and tasty meals. Our room was clean and well equipped. The only downside was the noise from the kitchen extractor fan was loud when our window was opened (hot day). Fortunately, the noise stopped when the kitchen closed, so did not affect sleeping.

It was a fun hotel, older, quaint, clean, and helpful staff. I highly recommend it.

Fair for the price

Staff were very helpful, welcoming and kind. Excellent pub with good food. Very clean throughout, highly recommend.

Family room was grubby and hot. There was a fan in the room which we were grateful for but room was tired and out-dated, not like the pictures we saw when booking. The bathroom was old and dirty, the toilet flush didn't work properly and there was mould and paint peeling from the ceiling. The breakfast was nice and was the best part of our stay. Wouldn't stay here again.

A great, and very well (recently) refurbished Coaching Inn, right in the heart of Frome, with a fab breakfast and helpful friendly staff as well. Having stayed in a few "brewery chain" old coaching inns recently where the "updating" seems to involve only a coat of paint and a new shelf in the bathroom, it was very welcome to find that the rooms (anbd bathrooms) at the George have been completely and professionally re-done to "you'd be very pleased if this was your own house" standard. Can't fault it at all.

I have stayed in five venues on my visit to Somerset over the past two weeks and this Hotel has been the best in many ways . It has been the most friendly and personal with an exceptional welcome by team members especially Vicky and Pat . The Hotel is centrally located in Market Place which makes it easy to travel to other towns in the county either by car or good bus connections . This hotel choice is excellent value with inclusive breakfasts along with very comfortable high standard rooms and I can only highly recommend a stay here . I would certainly stay here again if passing through in the future . Reg Bennett .

Very well priced hotel in the middle of town. If you're planning on having somewhere to rest between sightseeing or a stop over location if on a traveling tour, this hits the spot. The breakfast was excellent with vegan and vegetarian options. In the summer it may be a little toasty during any heatwaves, fans are provided. I stayed in one of the single rooms. I would return.

We stayed in room 3 on the first floor. I requested a room with a walk in shower as I have hip issues . Sadly, There are no rooms with showers on the ground floor. We had to climb up two staircases and down two staircases. 36 steps in total. The decor and paintwork was very tired. Chipped paintwork everywhere. Handles broken off the wardrobe. The toilet roll holder was barely hanging on the wall. The ceiling had rusty spots on it. The George is situated in the town centre and is great for being central. There was quite a lot of noise from cars outside late at night and loud talking and laughter from the street below. There was an enormous independent market in Frome on Sunday. Some really lovely stalls with and lots of lovely food to sample and buy. We had some delicious dairy ice cream made by an independent local farmer and was the best we have ever eaten. There is secure parking but it is a two minute walk away and the spaces and access is very tight. Also, there are roughly only 10 guest spaces and once full, parking in the the town centre car park is the only other option. All of the staff were very friendly

Extremely friendly and courteous staff, in particular the lady who checked us in and the breakfast team. The hotel is being systematically renovated and the public areas are of a high standard. Our room was clean and well maintained and whilst the bathroom was clean and functional it would have benefited from being renovated. That said, there was nothing seriously wrong with it. The price we paid represented excellent value for money. Free and secure parking in a dedicated building adjacent to the hotel.

Pubs and hotels have to decide whether they are places for people to meet in quiet convivial surrounding or whether to plaster every wall with large TV screens and invite crowds of football supporters, packing the place to the gunnels and being loud and raucous. The George seems to have decided on the latter. We will not be returning! Checking in was difficult as staff seemed more intend on serving beer Shame because the fabric of the building had a lot of charm.

Great location, breakfast and friendly breakfast and room cleaning staff.

Friendly welcoming staff, amazing food and great rooms. Third visit in recent months and certainly wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Bathroom needs a overhaul but beds comphy.

Room, although small was good in terms of its facilities. A fan in the room he!ped in hot weather. It was up some steep stairs which were a bit difficult with a suitcase. However, breakfast was excellent!

The positives: George Hotel is in a fabulous central location, the staff are really friendly and helpful, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and very well decorated. It was very good price too. The negatives: the comfort room was very very small. Struggled to get around each other and store our belongings. We also rang earlier to say one of us was cealiac but they still didn’t have gluten free cereal or sausages. However the breakfast was good and they did have gluten free bread. Despite the small negatives we would definitely stay here again - but would request a bigger room NOT the comfort room. 😁

The dining room tables weren't right down enough there was constantly ants and other bugs frequently crawling on the table. Management did not provide fans in the dining room when it was severely hot weather.
