We stayed in room 1, the staff were lovely and the rest of the hotel seemed nice however our room was dusty, mouldy and dirty. I understand it’s an old hotel but looking at review pictures from the other rooms, the one i had seemed completely different. The bathroom was covered in pubes and hair, mould was everywhere in the shower, the flooring was a mess and there was flies and silverfish, plus the shower was awful- none existent water pressure that would only go boiling hot or freezing cold. The rest of the room: lights didn’t work and bulbs were missing, paint was chipped everywhere, pubes and hair in the bed, window was held shut by a hair band but still let a breeze in, the bed curtain/ material let off loads of dust when touched. I hate to leave a negative review but i feel i got the worst room that seemed to have been prepared in a rush. On checkout there was no staff to speak to and i unfortunately didn’t get any pictures as i spent as little time as possible in the room. Would not come back sorry.

I stayed in what turned out to be a staff bedroom, and unfortunately the experience was very poor. The lock on the door was inadequate and did not make me feel secure – I ended up placing a chair behind the door overnight for peace of mind. The separate bathroom was also insecure, as any staff member with a key could have entered while I was inside, so again I had to use a chair as a makeshift lock.
The room itself lacked basic comforts: there was no bedside table, the bed was pushed against a filthy wall, and there was no mattress protector provided. These details made the room feel unhygienic and uncomfortable.
When I returned the key in the morning, no one asked how my stay was, which gave me the impression that the management were already aware of the substandard conditions.
Overall, I did not feel safe or comfortable in this room and would not stay here again.

Amazing hotel full of antiques and curios. Our room had a four poster bed and a lovely modern shower room. Breakfast was extra (£15) but was huge with toast, cereals, tea and juice. Attached to the hotel is a splendid bar serving cask beers - what more could you want? It's a 10-15 minute walk into the city and all the attractions, and the hotel car park is free!

Nice room, bathroom could do with a shelf, I was balancing things on and in the sink. 3 lamps in room but no bulbs. Struggled to close secondary glazing window so was very noisy at night from traffic and people. Had to move TV to plug kettle in and due to bed being in way of screen.
Shocked to find we had to pay £15 each for breakfast, no choice of size, too much for me to eat, took most of it home with me (I don't like waste) cereal, orange juice, full English, with or without toast, tea or coffee. Would've preferred a choice of small or large breakfast.
We only booked 1 night so wouldn't have paid for breakfast if staying longer.

The place was very well positioned and the staff were lovely. The beer garden and the pizzas were fantastic.
However, the whole place (except the bathroom) needs renovation - it's very dark with old furniture.
Also no hairdryer to be found although we probably should have asked for one

Great location. The double room with bath was very good, beautiful, big and cosy. The staff was very nice. I didn´t try their fried breakfast because there were no gluten free options. Only to say that the traffic from the main road was very loud in the room.

Nice little niche hotel off the main road. Has its own designated parking and limited EV chargers. You have your own kettle to make tea/coffee in your own room. Bar and restaurant attached so food and drinks are minutes away. If you are a light sleeper just be aware if you are near the road you can hear the cars all night so maybe bring someear plugs. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Staff were fantastic so so friendly. Room was lovely bed comfortable only thing was we had the most thinnest of pillows and the plumbing made a noise for quite a while.
