Nice clean large room

The hotel was fine if a little dated, an improvement could be some hooks or somewhere to hang towels in the bathroom.

The recently erected awning to keep wedding guests in the dry is a good idea, but the design is horrendous. It is a dark colour on the inside which makes it look antiquated and the huge plastic cacti inside it look cheap. Worst of all it overshadows the dining room, so you can no longer sit in the morning or evening sunlight looking out over the extensive lawns, whilst having dinner or breakfast. The awning could easily have had a much better design. It shows total disdain for guests who are not attending a wedding.

The TV didnt work. The showwr had very little power,with the hot water taking at leadt 5 mins to come through and the bed sheets, although clean were stained. The staff are friendly but the hotel interiorr needs an overhall and modernising.

Staff was great; room was nice and spacious; heat worked; didn't have breakfast. Was surprised at the £5 parking charge...especially since it was "out in the countryside", with acres of parking!

Carpets throughout the Hotel have seen better days, Stairs carpets and bedroom carpet need replacing. Bar and Grill outside in a Marque not a great idea, it was too cold. Door open, and heating turned off. Service was also very slow.

This was a one night stay, it was quiet, and comfortable. Very convenient to visit family in the area.

Large and quiet room

Parking is ample, and spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rara bar had a very low key relaxed atmosphere, a great variety of drinks. All in all, a very pleasant relaxing time. Thank you!

Risk of Salmonella!! After our stay at the Grovefield my one year old has been admitted at the hospital for salmonella after severe fever and diarrhoea.

Hotel was fairly clean, but the rooms need some updates and maintenance. I was in room 108 and there was no way to lock the door from inside the room - just a security chain. The shower was awful. Tepid water temperature (sink tap was fine for hot water), and the flow was so poor it took and age to wash any suds off especially as it’s a fixed head and I didn’t feel particularly clean afterwards. This wasn’t an issue that had just developed either, as the shower head was blocked with limescale, massively restricting the flow (see picture). Room was like a sauna. Only 3 tiny windows in the bay window would open a crack due to security features and all that’s provided is a small desk fan to circulate the hot air. I’ve stayed at other hotels recently with no AC, but they have provided multiple tower fans to help circulate and cool. It ruined my nights sleep as I couldn’t get cool enough to get comfortable. Issues reported to reception on check out and the response was indifferent. Just a ‘we will report it to maintenance’.
