Lovely place. Gym was good

The quilt had coffee stains on it. The curtain net was missing from the window. The bin had not been emptied as there was old milk and coffee saches from previous guest. Expensive for the quality of accommodation.

Staff were fantastic throughout my stay of 4 days, I didn't manage to use the facilities though. Breakfast was great well worth it to start the day right.

I booked through Expedia and didn't realise that even though it says the hotel has air con. That is only if you book a room with air con. Standard rooms don't have it. Our first roo. Had a meagre fan and smelt bad. However the staff were great and moved us to a room with air con and we were lucky as it was the last one! But the bathroom was not clean. Had to get people to come and clean the bath which had scummy around it at the bottom and the room door was broken and the top. I only booked this hotel because it has a pool and I have a bad back. But had to pay extra £20 per person which we decided not to do. And the breakfast was also am extra £20 per person. Which we didn't have as we had to leave early so I would have been better of staying elsewhere.

Great hotel in a peaceful setting

The hotel area, landscape and grounds absolutely exceptional. Hotel inside is clean and tidy. which includes reception and the catering/dining section. Some other elements appear really dated e.g. carpets and stairwells, which make specific odours. The hotel I can see have done some renovations and furniture renewals which I assume with and overall plan to modernise further. The room was always looked after on request no issues there. windows in rooms we were in needed cleaning/replacing. Low humming noises which disturbed sleep and winding down. Staff reaction and action to requests were very good with a kind temperament. The stay though was Lovely and great space for relaxing and "getting away from it all" - i would come back again.

Great location and hotel, a relaxing place to stay. The premisses was kept clean and in great condition. The spa facilities was wonderful, it had a course to follow for a full experience. The room I stayed in was clean and tidy. The interior was not the best, not very modern but satisfactory. Also, need to access the room I stayed by stairs from the first floor so might not be ideal for those with walking difficulties. However, it was a great place to stay and the views and golf course are breath-taking!

Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The attendant on duty ordered vegetarian sausages for me, and they were very good.

Lovely views and the staff were helpful, there were just not enough of them. Queues for the bar at various times, reception manager the only one on the bar. Great bar food and breakfast with lovely ladies at breakfast but room needed an update. Iron only worked when you pressed the chord in, boiling hot overheated room, toilet took ages to fill, just not terribly modern and had paid for a suite so expected a decent standard without such issues.

Nice hotel with friendly staff, good parking and a pleasant reception area. Bowling was great fun and reasonably priced, and the lounge bar was a lovely relaxed space. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and a beautiful view over the lake and golf course. However, communication around the spa was disappointing. It wasn’t clear at booking that the spa was an additional cost, operated on 2-hour slots only, or that robe hire was an extra £5 per person. I’d emailed in advance to book the spa but was advised to arrange it on arrival, which was difficult as it was Valentine’s weekend. Despite being advertised as having a hot tub, there wasn’t one, and the spa itself was quite small. There were no room service menus in the room and the menu found online was outdated. Our suite was clean but dated with a car park view, and one side of the bed had no plug socket. Dinner was excellent despite limited menu choices. Our key card also stopped working before the 11am checkout time. Overall, a pleasant stay with some great highlights, but clearer information and communication would make a big difference

We stayed in a loft room which was very clean and bed was comfortable. Hotel is located in a very quiet area. The spa facilities is one of the best we have ever been to. But be prepared to pay to use it if your room does not include this. Read the small print. Restaurant staff was wonderful especially during breakfast. We will stay here again . Thank you

Staff and clean room

Lovely evening night away at Hellidon with my partner, recommend to use the spa facilities later in the day as it’s quieter. We had a lovely room over looking the beautiful countryside, room had everything we needed & very quiet. Evening food was delicious, special thank you to Karen and the young gentleman behind the bar / serving food - both very helpful, kind & wonderful members of staff. Both deserve a huge pay rise!😁

The room needed updating.it was old fashioned.the wall paper was falling off.the lamps didn't work.the staff were very friendly helpful polite
