Clean room, friendly staff, nice bar

More staff Better breakfasts and food served at a reasonable time we waited 40mins for our breakfast and it wasn’t that good

Great location, 5 minute walk along the canal to town. Hotel is opposite the train station, fire station & a supermarket. Room was nice & mostly clean although a desk lamp had quite a thick coat of dust on the base. Our room overlooked the road at the front which is busy - noise didn’t really bother us but would probably ask for a canal side room next time. Nice bar area. Had dinner in the restaurant & it was good, but small portions. Salmon came with 3 very small 1/4 roast potatoes. Black olive & feta salad had no olives! There is a supermarket over the road… Breakfast was good, although the beans were cold. Staff were great, especially the lovely lady who served breakfast.

Good stay, rooms a little tired and the TV was difficult on tuning in on some channels. Bar and breakfast areas were good Staff very nice

The room was great and we received a bonus room upgrade. We were in town to see the Rudolph Run and the local town was buzzing as the tractors rolled into town.

The breakfast was delicious. Lots of choice and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Convenient nice food. Would recommend.

Staff excellent, room clean and comfortable, great breakfast, only couple of negatives; bathroom door was sliding and had no lock so not very private, and radiator knocked all night no matter what setting we tried, as no staff on duty at night we had to grin and bare it, other than that would definitely recommend the Herriot.

The room

We received a free upgrade to a room overlooking the canal which was lovely. Excellent breakfast and evening meal. Pleasant friendly staff. Good location for walking into Skipton.

We were not made aware when we booked or on arrival that’s there was a wedding reception. The noise from the DJ, disco,music and Karaoke was unbelievably loud from our room from 8pm until after midnight and we had no escape from it. We feel that we should have been made aware so we could’ve made an informed decision and stayed away. The room was also tired and in need of updating. We did meet some nice friendly staff but the above spoilt our stay.

Great hotel. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and a nice canal view. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely consider this hotel for our next visit to Skipton.
