Excellent bed an breakfast in the Peak District run by friendly hosts. The room was impeccably clean and of a good size, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern and recently renovated. It is above the pub, which we also liked because it was possible to get dinner there - good 'pub grub' fayre. They also serve an excellent traditional English breakfast. Very happy to recommend this property to others.

The hotel was clean and well kept. Zero issues with the room or facilities as they all met expectations. All the staff were polite, professional and friendly. Special mention to Harry, Clare and the chef for going above and beyond to help with an issue I had(car trouble, not hotel related). Would recommend and would definately book again if in the area.

Lovely, comfortable, clean bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, just took a little longer to arrive than I’d anticipated. Would happily stay again.

Great find, food was very nice Staff were lovely and very helpful. Restaurant was busy so must have a good local reputation. Sat in bar after meal on some lovely leather sofas with a beer chatting with other residents. Bed was very comfortable and slept well. Breakfast great- perfect fuel for a day of hiking. Start with the positives, the staff couldn’t have been nicer, breakfast was really good. However the room was v tired, scuffed walls, cobwebs but everything you needed was in there. Remote didn’t work the tv which wasn’t a huge issue but the seal on the shower kept falling off and water ended up in the bathroom floor. We did report it and they provided extra towels.

Friendly staff, and food was OK. The property needs significant TLC. The terrifying stairs probably cant be fixed, but the decor could be improved, and the bedroom could be given some character.

Comfortable stay overall. Unfortunately, no chef was available meaning we needed to travel into town during the evening for food. Felt as though staff numbers were limited as often no-one was around.
Lovely setting with great views, road can be a bit noisy at peak times.

Beautiful setting. Rooms needs updating. More staff needed. Breakfast was served by one guy who was running ragged and cooking. We chose not to wait for breakfast the second day. Shame as the hotel could have an absolute gem. Room was very basic more like a hostel.
New land lady was friendly and has alot of work ahead.

Lovely place with the most beautiful views. Rooms were fine - clean and comfortable, nothing special to look at but perfectly adequate. The lady who has recently taken over said she is in the process of renovating them. Breakfast was good. Would happily stay again, especially after she has been there for a while longer. I can’t imagine anywhere having a better location for views and getting around the Peak District
