Spotlessly clean and cosy

Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathroom facilities are bey lacking.

Felt more like a room to let rather than a guest house as there was no owner on the premises to make you feel welcome.

Great spot, we had a view of the sea. Shelley cleans efficiently although a bin was missed. However the hotel has been split up from a once grand house, our room was barely a double, a small bed pushed against the wall, and wuith four rooms on our floor to only one tiny bathroom there's really not enough to go round and daily cleaning isn't enough. The hotel was obviously refurbished a little while ago. The cheap hotel decor is slightly annoying but it's OK. However it needs checking, our bathroom had no towel holder as it's broken, the shower curtain only just stays in the tray so bathroom floods, just needs a quality check not the naff signs on the wall.

Booked the Miricia 4 months in advance for my wife's birthday, paid extra for the best room with stunning sea view only to be told when we arrived that the hotel had been vacant since January but no one could be bothered to inform me otherwise I would have rearranged or cancelled for a later date, I'm absolutely disgusted that the owner couldn't find the time to inform me in 4 months, pathetic. If it wasn't for Shelley at the phoenix court hotel who was brilliant our break would have been ruined, she's the best.

It was a convenient location. It was good to be able to leave the car outside the guest house, and for it to included in the price. My husband and I enjoyed the views from the bedroom window overlooking the bay. However the bedroom was smaller than we expected. The staff and customers were friendly. We expected our 'own' bathroom to be in our bedroom, as opposed to being on the landing next to our bedroom.

A lovely place to stay, very welcoming. Only bad point was the ensuite that wasn't. It was a seperate shower and toilet, private but not en suite.

Very good breakfast . Very pleasant hosts and nice two day stay . Because I am 6ft2 inch would prefer a kingsized bed rather than double .

Such a fabulous guest house. The owner was exemplary host and could teach a thing or two to the nearby hotels on hospitality management and customer care. The guest house is located in the quieter area of Scarborough but with free parking just outside and being a short walk from almost every attraction, we had a wonderful 2 day break. We used the Scarborough Arms for our evening meals and opted to walk to the Open Air theatre. Loads of tourist information on hand in the reception area and a comfortable lounge is available with views over the North bay. We're already planning our next trip!

Would stay there again

Loved the host, a nice quiet hotel but double room we had with a separate private bath was tiny. We could barely move in it, and no place for our baggage. Pretty view, probably nice for weekend trips but not long term travelers.

Lovely comfortable guest house. And the owner is extremely warm, friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again
