Unlike almost everything else at the Old Thorns, the breakfast was really sub standard. Tough leathery bacon, tinned mushrooms and (what tasted like) powdered scrambled eggs. I've had better breakfasts in a Travel Lodge! Also, if it was not included, they charged nearly £17 each for it! Such a shame. The wedding catering we attended was very good by comparison.

The decor is very mixed and a bit of a mish mash of modern, old, contemporary...it could be a great looking place.

View from rooms are into car park. Main restaurant couldn’t accommodate two of us for dinner ( we arrived at 7:45) so either book it or just find somewhere else

Pool and not tub could have been hotter and it took nearly 8 minutes of running the water to get hot water to the shower at 06:30 . Overall a beautiful and friendly place to stay

My second stay at this hotel which pretty much mirrored the previous stay with a few more positives. I found a perfect parking spot just near the entrance and didn't want to give it up so I dined at the sports bar which was a wise decision as the food provided was top notch. My room was on the 2nd floor just around the corner from the leisure facilities which I took full advantage of using both the cardio equipment and weights. A very powerful shower later had me ready for bed which was comfy and led to a decent night's sleep. The breakfast buffet had great ingredients for both a cooked and continental choice of which I sampled a bit of both. For the caliber of place this is and all you have at your disposal, to get a quality room like mine for under £100 is considered a great bargain and I look forward to being back here again in the future.

Nothing big but hot water needs long time to arrive in tap.

When we checked in, there was a pair of underwear from the previous guest on the towel warmer underneath the towels. There was empty bottles of shampoo and body wash in the dispensers in the shower. There was visible filth in the corners of the bathroom floor. There was also a massive cobweb in the corner of the room just by the table and chairs.
