Loved it. The staff and licals were so friendly. The breakfast chef was deserves a special mention. Very handy for osborne house which was the main reason along with our annual keyes family forum were the main reasons for visitong. Especially poignant as my jusband was due to arrange this years get together. And this was his idea. Unfortunatley he died before he coukd achieve this so i stepped in.

Nice hotel, nice rooms, great food portions and good quality. However, we paid for 3 superior king rooms, were told on arrival they only have 1 avaliable, but 2 regular rooms, fine, accidents happen. We were told they will check if they can refund the difference between the 2 rooms we were downgraddled on, never received a call back. Spoke to hotels.com directly, they contacted the hotel who told them we "did receive 3 Superior king rooms". So, despite having used hotels.com for years with no real negative occurences, this one was definitely a first, being left out of pocket and then essentially called a liar, excellent customer service.

Bed comfortable, staff were amazing, couldn’t do enough for us and breakfast was one of the best I have had for a long time. Great place to stay.

Room & en-suite bit small for 2 adults but in fairness I booked a standard room

I read the reviews of this hotel after booking and was a bit apprehensive but this hotel is clearly under new management. Staff so helpful and friendly breakfast was really tasty with fresh locally sources produce and I had the mixed grill in the evening (my go to meal), AMAZING! If I ever visit the IoW again I would happily stay at the Prince of Wales.

Literally across the street from the Osborne House. The rooms are named after the children of Queen Victoria, which was fun. Pub has good food both for the breakfast and other meals.

The pub is currently being upgraded and although our stay was good I am sure in a few weeks time it will be even better.

Good value , staff very helpful

We have stayed at The Prince Of Wales before, It is now under new management and they are making great improvements. The facilities are good and moving toward excellent.Very helpful staff,very good value, plenty of parking. We will be staying there again, as this is convenient for us whilst on the I.O.W

Pleasant enough, wifi wasn’t working, bathroom clean but small. Reasonable price

There is no reception as such just wait at the bar..the girls were helpful. When I arrived one helped carry my bag up the stairs to my room, which was neat, tidy and clean. The breakfast waiter was also friendly. My negative was it was a bit noisy at night and it looks like it could do with some maintenance on the roof and the gutters, from my bedroom window. Having my bathroom separate to the room was a slight inconvenience but the location being right opposite the entrance to Osborne House was a plus. Also within walking distance to the shops and the ferry terminal. I could see from my window that maintenance needs to be done on the gutters.

Bed room was clean. Service at breakfast needs improvement

We booked a room and arrived at 9pm to find the hotel closed when check-in time end according to the website at 10pm. Hotel refused to refund us as it was a non refundable room but it is their mistake. Please be aware check in end at 9pm

Building does look shabby on the outside., but the interior and the room l had was modern clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

This is a very authentic hotel/pub. A bit dated but we enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly, breakfast was good - full English :-) coffee tasty! And the best if you travel by bus from Ryde the bus stop is direct in front of the pub door! The hotel is as well very close to the Osborne House.

The toilets use a pump to get rid of toilet waste. Every time someone went to the toilet in any room you hear a low rumble, squeaks and pipes shudder. The place is very dated but clean

It was a fairly clean and comfortable hotel. However there were some areas in need or renovation and cleaning, and the breakfast was mediocre. Service was not very good - the younger staff were pleasant and helpful but senior staff seemed stressed and uninterested. I was surprised that a night costing this sum was not of a higher standard, and was also surprised that a historic property and area of such interest was not of a higher quality

Wonderful warm welcome and quality of the room was higher than we were expecting.
