Ive stopped here many times over the years, its quirky and a nice location, but it lets itself down badly . No redecorating has been done since opening. The stair carpet needs binning, dirty and stained , paintwork tired and chipped . Old sofa and TV, smell of fried food from cafe downstairs doesn't help. The top floor room I was in, one of the Velux windows wouldn't close properly. The place is very tired unfortunately

Lovely apartment with plenty of room. Nice and comfortable, cleaned really well. Having the lovely cafe downstairs was just perfect.

Lovely property. Overall good stay. However few points that could be improved upon, mainly from communication point of view. As we were travelling from the other side of the country we had requested if any non-dairy milk was available for use on the day we arrived and although the host said that would be fine, no milk available on arrival. Also the cutlery and plates etc were overtly greasy with some bits of old food on them which mean we re-washed them all. On first morning of our stay we went down for breakfast in the cafe underneath the property. Busy morning and staff did tell us there would be a wait which was fine for us. But after 45 minute wait, with 2 other tables being served before us (despite arriving after us) no food. When it did arrive, lukewarm at best and we did not then have time to wait another 45 minutes. So breakfast was a disappointment unfortunately. The staff definitely needed some better communication between them all. And finally, we appreciated it is an old building and the cafe opens at 8 am but perhaps a little more respect for guests in the morning with regards to noise and full blast music coming on at 8am (ironic statement for me bearing in mind I am deaf but gives an idea of how loud it was)

A lovely apartment, we all felt so comfortable there (2 adults two kids under 7), lovely finishes, really welcoming to have some milk and basics to use. The location is great, right near the estuary, local parade of shops, cafes and restaurants. Overall a really pleasant stay and would definitely return here and recommend others to stay here too.

A lovely apartment in an ideal location, staff very friendly and accommodating and the food at the cafe was very good.

I have stayed at this accommodation many times over the years. Its a good location, but it really needs some TLC desperately. A lick of paint and a new carpet would make a huge difference. Nothing has changed in all the years ive been visiting.

We really enjoyed our stay at Route 2 for 2 nights. It was convenient and had most of what we needed.

Lovely quirky holiday spot. Very characterful, very clean and in a fabulous location. The stairs are quite steep and a challenge for the less mobile but we were aware of this, so not a problem.

We had a great weekend stay at this property. It is close to some good restaurants and the town has lots to offer. The accommodation was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The shower has lots of pressure - most enjoyable. We had a great breakfast in the cafe downstairs. We hope to be back in this area and will definitely stay here again.

couldt fault it, such a great location - very quiet .. staff v friendly and helpful we will be back!

Love place, great food, lovely area

Most enjoyable stay. Very helpful and friendly staff in great location. Only downside is the spiral stairs to the apartment but the staff carried our cases up and that was appreciated.

Love this place. Excellent place to stay if you enjoy simplicity, boats, nature, cycling, walks and the South Devon lifestyle.,,,,& food 😀. 10 mins from Exeter centre. Host are fab!

Nice large space. signs roof leak few places needing a leak of paint and some ployfillas :) in a couple of the rooms. Kitchen was spotless. Overall all; lovely view and nice house in keeping with age.

Beautiful setting, very pretty town.
