Lack of staff on reception duty ,night porter did not answer phone when we wanted to leave early morning 6am.No Guinness for sale in bar! Add to that the fact that the meal was not freshly cooked as the chips were at least a hour old when they arrived.All in all it was very expensive for what you were actually delivered.As if they thought “let’s make everything very expensive and people will think it must be good at those prices “ …it wasn’t. More Travelodge than Malmaison in our experience!

Room and hot tub was lovely. We were the only ones in the restaurant for lunch which was strange but food was good. Evening meal was a let down, had one waiter on and the poor lad was run ragged, had to cross off most of the things on the menu due to no availability and had none of the wine we wanted in stock. Wife is pescatarian so had very little choice for food. Vibe and decor of the hotel and rooms was very cool though and room was very cosy

Hot tub lid was difficult to put on and take off. Breakfast service was a little slow but food was lovely. We found lots of hair pins and grips in the floor from previous guests. The "leave me alone' sign wasnt clear that it was for putting on the door to avoid being disturbed, it was hanging on the cupboard door which made us think we couldn't open the cupboard which housed the tea making facilities eyc!

Our experience was generally good, the staff both on reception and in the restaurant were very pleasant. The food was disappointing as it didn’t live up to its expectations of the menu, which was a shame. There was a lot of noice coming from the outside patio area as people used this space for smoking and vaping. Our room over looked this, you could hear a lot of noise even with the window closed along with the various smells from the smoke.

Room was small but perfect for what we were after, and It included toiletries and tea making facilities. We had a private hot tub which was brilliant. The was a good selection at breakfas,t but at dinner there were quite a lot of meals unavailable, but what we had was very nice. The hotel was generally quite shabby but that is the intention I think and it did add to its charm.

What an utterly lovely find this place is. Quiet, rural views, clean, fabulous staff and exceptional facilities. There are lovely little touches in the rooms which makes the whole stay feel like a proper treat. I can’t wait to go back.

Room and hot tub was lovely. We were the only ones in the restaurant for lunch which was strange but food was good. Evening meal was a let down, had one waiter on and the poor lad was run ragged, had to cross off most of the things on the menu due to no availability and had none of the wine we wanted in stock. Wife is pescatarian so had very little choice for food. Vibe and decor of the hotel and rooms was very cool though and room was very cosy

Hot tub lid was difficult to put on and take off. Breakfast service was a little slow but food was lovely. We found lots of hair pins and grips in the floor from previous guests.
