Really friendly welcome when I arrived. The whole place is spotless and well maintained.

I recently stayed at Shenandoah House while visiting family nearby, and chose it because it was pet-friendly and had such excellent reviews. I’m so glad I did. From the moment we arrived, we received a genuinely warm welcome from Jim, who immediately made friends with our dog. The room was clean, comfortable and thoughtfully set up. The cooked English breakfast was honestly one of the best I’ve had, and the breakfast room itself was a great bonus, with a fridge and microwave available for guests to use. There’s also a lovely garden, which Jim is happy to allow dogs into. Parking was on street with no restrictions, and the area itself was very quiet. The location is ideal, the beach is just a short walk away, the station is nearby and it’s an easy, pleasant 15 minute walk into the main centre. Overall, it truly felt like a home‑from‑home experience and offered great value for money. I’ll definitely be booking here again.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and I enjoyed it just as much, if not more. The host goes beyond what I would expect from this type of hotel and was particularly to an older lady who needed special care. I particularly appreciated the gluten free options for breakfast, which included sausages.

The owner confirmed question before we arrived and was there to show us the room, letting us know breakfast time and aquantus us with the keys. The room was clean and warm with a separate toilet and shower that worked well. The breakfast was great with a choice of cereal, lots of high quality full english breakfast items and toast with jams. Lots of drink options too with fresh orange juice. Jim the owner has made a special place to stay, even allowing guests to use the dining area outside of breakfast time with a microwave available to use. There are information leaflets for the area too, with the main town just being a short walk away. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Thanks Jim

Had difficulties in contacting host, as email sent a couple of days before our visit and a telephone call on the norming which went straight to answer phone. No contact made by host before we attended. Room clean and tidy. No parking on front as although 3 parking bays 2 cars parked badly so has to park on the street

The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. They provided us with a cooked breakfast as well as a selection of cereals. Shenandoah House about 5 minutes walk from the beach and is close to local shops, restaurants and cafes. It is also within walking distance to the Turner Gallery and Dreamland. I spend 2 nights with my family the room was a good size and comfortable. My children enjoyed sleeping time. The room was however noisy being on the side of the main road. The view was great with the sea just a stone throw away. I had to personally asked for the WiFi connection on the second day. I needed for my kids lessons online. The location was good with Tesco close by. But it’s quite a walk to the town centre. The cost is affordable as a bonus Overall was a good stay.

Second stay here, everything you need to be comfortable and near to everything

Very friendly staff , Laura and Jim made us feel very welcome. Room very clean and comfortable and has all you would need for a short break. The area is really nice , it’s in a busy road but did not bother us . Very conveniently located to Margate main sands - will definitely staff again.

We received the warmest of welcomes from Jim, the proprietor. He was so lovely, funny and kind. Although the Shenandoah is a period house, it is right up to date, the decor and furniture looked new. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent, there was probably something to suit everyone. I’m a bit of a Nespresso addict and usually take a machine with me when I travel, I didn’t this trip but was delighted when I found a Nespresso machine in the breakfast room. The Shenandoah has rooms to suit most. It even has glamping pods if you fancy something a bit different. There is off street parking. Thanks, Jim, it’s obvious that you’d go the extra mile for your guests!

Great stay here. Friendly and accommodating host. Comfortable room. We had a room with a sea view. Excellent value for money. The breakfast was plentiful. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay.location is convenient for Margate and west cliffs beach and we walked. Place was clean and cosy.we had our pet dog.we felt at home and would surely return.Thank you Jim!

Such a wonderful place! The environment is super friendly, everything is spotless, and the service is perfect. It’s just a short walk to the beach, and honestly, it feels like a home away from home. Couldn’t ask for a better experience!
