Outstanding welcome and food

Excellent all round especially the food.

Lovely room very spacious and clean. The staff were really friendly and the food was fantastic. Looking forward to staying here again.

Clean modern room but would recommend paying the extra for a larger room with a view. Food eve meal / breakfast etc was excellent with very attentive staff in all departments. Excellent weekend break. Would recommend.

Excellent service as soon as I arrived at The Barrel Inn. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly and extremely helpful. From check in, breakfast, bar staff and waiting on. Food was wonderful. Apart from the above what most impressed was when I was out for a walk, Oliver contacted me to see if myself and my husband needed a reservation for that evening. Above and beyond as far as I'm concerned, looking after their residents. As I know from the evening before the pub would have been extremely busy. Well done The Barrel Inn.

There were no windows in the room. The bed was comfy and a good shower, but it was dark and airless. We stayed for dinner which was very average but the breakfast was good. And the views outside are wonderful. Not great value for money considering how much we paid.

Delightful old hilltop inn with commanding views over the Dales. Friendly efficient staff. Very well appointed spacious modern room ( Barrel). Excellent stylish dinner: there is a chef behind the scenes! Attractive base for walking/ touring

Stunning location, delightful room, wonderful staff

We had a wonderful stay at The Barrel inn. They were accommodating to our potential late arrival, the room was spotless, cosy and fresh. The amazing view at sunset was stunning and although we were too late to eat dinner there, the breakfast was delicious. We had a brilliant night sleep and great hot showers the following morning. This was a recommendation from a friend and so worth it, we’ll definitely be back.

Great food, great staff and unbelievable views. Clean and well equipped room albeit a bit small. Have stayed here before and hope to visit again

The staff were lovely, friendly. The beds were so comfortable. The rooms were warm. And the food was delicious.

We stayed during a major snowstorm that shut down the roads and left the Inn under-staffed: but the food was still excellent, the service was wonderful, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had an excellent stay, The chef is brilliant and the owners are both very friendly and very helpful. An excellent experience despite the adverse weather conditions.

The staff were lovely. A great youthful vibe in the bar/restaurant. Very clean. Special thanks to Helen & Bozena. The food in the restaurant was first class. Superb for travelling to Bakewell or Buxton. The views of the five counties lives up to its name!! Incredible big thumbs up. Look forward to coming back. Beautiful all around xx

lovely hotel break. staff service went beyond excellent. having felt poorly they went out of their way tome sandwiches that suited my needs.

Small room &bed, but warm & comfortable. Superb design bathroom. Toiletries & shower caps often not available even at top hotels. Good quality evening meal. Relaxed atmosphere

The location was just amazing. So beautiful the views and the pub attached was our favorite of our trip. Amazing food, good beer and an excellent and comfortable vibe. The room was fine. No view (skylights) and bathroom very basic. Plus we were next to parking lot so heard some early morning deliveries. BUT I’d stay there again and do recommend as the location is the best! (If you like quiet, remote,kind of out of the way places…on a very quiet road, but one that has been traveled since at least the 900’s!!

Friendly pub in a fantastic location for views and walks. Easy to park. A great breakfast. TV with Netflix etc Tea, coffee, biscuits in room. Comfortable bed. Quality bedding. Meticulously clean.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the surrounding area is majestic and the food at the inn was excellent. Overall we were very happy with our choi e of stay

Great stay, definitely worth it. Not cheapest but worth it.
