The cricketers itself was very nice pub food was okay but nothing special, breakfast was good.
Our room (the best)was located in a converted bungalow over the road , on arrival i was handed rhe keys and told its over there!!
The room was clean but tired .there was no fridge to keep anything cool
The weather was extremely hot ,hottest on record, there was no air con , just a small fan in the room which was extremely hot , i had brought an additional fan with me as a precaution .
On the second day returning from our day out , the room had been cleaned, but astoishingly both fans had been turned off , the room was unbearably hot , i spoke to staff back at the pub , who's reply was "realy' .
I wouldnt stay again or recomend

Charming historic country pub draped in wisteria at this time of year. Our room was in a modern courtyard which blended very well with the original building. Room clean and well planned. Excellent breakfast - nice thick bacon and delicious sausages.

For the price of the room, we were really disappointed - pretty basic (but clean) and the bathroom could really do with some updating - shower really wasn't great, not much pressure and head clogged up with limescale. Was not the standard I was expecting. Dinner was lovely though and the staff were great, couldn't have been more helpful to fit us in. Breakfast was also very good but service was slow as there was a big party and the two ladies working seemed very overwhelmed. I'd just expected more from the room for the price.

Staff is really helpful and friendly with good knowledge of local stuff to do and see. The room was nicely designed. Bed was fantastic. Comfortable, clean and linen was soft and well ironed. Shower was great with high pressure and hot water, carpark was quite tight but free of charge! Breakfast was perfect! Dinner at their restaurant/ pub was very tasty and very well made and fresh.
Only down points: Room and bathroom could be cleaner.
We stayed on the ground floor room so had some noise from the building entrance when guests went up and down the stairs - but nothing that will make us feel unpleasant.
Would stay again and recommend!
