This was a return visit as we loved the friendly staff and locals. Special treat for our Irish Wolfhound because my wife was on antibiotics so timing meant she couldn't have her breakfast... so guess who got it instead. Very happy dog though I think the chef felt his skills were not being tested given she likes her eggs raw. So yes they are very dog friendly, and the food for us humans was excellent as well.

Excellent staff, spotless rooms, snd superb food. Would recommend to everyone.

Friendly bunch of people around the bar. Excellent food. Helpful and no issues with our giant dog (Irish Wolfhound). We had 2 rooms. Rooms at the back are modern and quiet. Rooms at the front are lovely tudor atmosphere and we did not notice any road noise.

The peaceful surroundings meant I slept soundly each night. 🌸 Whether you’re stopping by on a scenic road trip or seeking a quiet weekend retreat, The Hoops Inn delivers warmth, flavor, and character in equal measure. I left feeling nourished, rested, and already dreaming of my next visit.

The Hoops is a lovely country inn with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Our room was clean and comfortable especially the bed. A well stocked tray with tea, coffee, water and biscuits. Towling robes were also provided. Breakfast, lunch and dinner had good choices and the cooked food was delicious

My partner and I had a lovely welcome from the friendly bar lady. We were given room 12; mediocre, yet functional. Unfortunately it had a faint smell of urine emanating from the bathroom. The bed was clean and comfortable and the room had been heated well so we were not cold during a chilly October evening. Supper was great. I would recommend having a meal at the establishment. The bar staff are very friendly and the locals too. It has a sense of community about it which is a joy to see. Unfortunately our sleep was disturbed throughout the night. Firstly the doors slam shut and the noise resonates throughout the hall. Later at 2am, 4am & again at 6am we were listening to hotel workers moving some type of heavy object on wheels outside the grounds of the Inn. It is great to still see a working Inn, but at night when one needs to sleep is unacceptable. Breakfast is amazing. The variety and attention to dietary requirements / allergies. Service in the morning was excellent as it was the evening before. The staff there do a superb job. The Inn is a great place for entertaining. I would go again, but not to stay the night. One recommendation I would suggest is to place a jug of drinking water in the room. Tap water would suffice.

Sehr gutes Essen! Das Restaurant und die Bar sind gemütlich. Die Zimmer sind ok und passen zum Haus. Das Haus ist ein niedliches, schön bewachsenes altes Haus leider genau an einer Haupstraße, wo sonst nichts ist. Als Ausgangspunkt für weitere Fahrten ok. Das Hotel scheint familiengeführt zu sein. Sehr nettes Personal. Die Zimmer sind leider etwas hellhörig.

Nice hotel , service was ok .Jack behind the bar was fantastic ,so friendly.unfortunately the service at breakfast was terrible.

Enjoyed a couple of nights at The Hoops for a weekend family get together. Excellent gastropub menu with huge portions for dinner and breakfast, comfortable superior room and super service, inside and outside in secluded beer garden. On a main road so front facing rooms a little noisy but not really a big issue in the overall scheme of things. Recommended.

We had a lovely stay at the Hoops Inn. Our room at the back of the Inn was quiet, spacious and clean and the quality of the food (both dinner and at breakfast) was excellent.
