Firstly the good things: the common areas & my suite (the Secret Garden) were in many ways very impressive in terms of design & everything was beautifully clean. On the downside the suite wasn’t quite as practical/efficient as I’d have hoped. Eg the fridge was just a minibar so v small; the bathroom basin was tiny, the mirror above it with built in light didn’t work & flashed all the time; the wet room arrangement was impractical as the water flooded the area between the shower area & the towel rail. So still a good experience staying here & if design’s your thing then absolutely terrific, but not quite right for me.

Lovely stay, would definitely visit again. Central location, friendly staff and very clean and has described.

Nice hotel located next to a main car park and not the safest location but overall a nice place to stay. Would of been convenient to have a fridge/freezer with the kitchen.

Highly recommend, unique rooms and brilliant staff, in the heart of Chester! Got upgraded to the Secret Garden and it was great! Stayed before in the Safari room which has its own jacuzzi bathtub which was brilliant! This time opted for another room as it safari was booked, but the upgrade was great! Staff very friendly and brilliant! Cannot complain in the slightest! Can’t wait to go again!

Great hotel. Had a nice upgrade. The room had a comfy bed and was very clean. There was an ac unit in the bedroom which helped cool the room down. The only thing was the shower pressure was very low and cut out a couple of times.

Beautiful rooms and very friendly staff. A little gem of a hotel in the centre of Chester close to restaurants and bars.

Great boutique type hotel, attention to detail in the rooms and reception.

Hotel and staff brilliant, pub next door noisy, smoking outside stinking the area in front of the hotel, cigarette butts and beer bottles left, vomit on pavement from the church bar across the road, real shame as the hotel and stay was faultless 👍

Amazing property and staff

Nice room. Noisy till late. Couldn’t open curtains because of people on balcony opposite. No privacy.

What a fantastic place to stay! They staff are so loving and caring and made our wedding stay the best it possibly could be! They were so accompanying for me and my wife, kept us informed before and during our entire stay as well!

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Given a free upgrade to the spa room which was a nice treat, the room had high-quality furnishings and the spa shower was fun, could do with some instructions on how to use. A little noisy outside in the evening due to location but quiet enough at night. Overall an enjoyable experience

Stayed in Polo room. Absolutely gorgeously done out. Perfect location. Nice amenities with little complimentary snacks. Loved the sweetie jar! Room was at top of building and it was a hot day. Sadly tho no air con so had a noisy seperate air con unit in room that needed to put on as too hot without. On a less warm day you wouldn’t need air con. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Lovely stay in the tree house, amazing living area with huge chill out sofa and tv, lovely rooms and huge copper bath in one of the bathrooms. We will be returning

I only gave 4 star, not 5, due to the area around the hotel. Once you are inside it is lovely, but outside being next to car park entrance and a shopping mall, it looks pretty run down. Chester is fantastic for Roman history and well worth a visit. I would say to the hotel owners keep your eye on the ball and don't let things slip.
