If you are used to Premire Inn or the likes of this is not for you. However if you are looking for a budget friendly hotel like talking to the locals this could be for you with the drinks being reasonably priced. Car parking was good and secure Amazing breakfast, friendly staff I would stay here again. One note of warning the hotel does not offer evening meals, but the are in a 5 min radius several options.

The breakfast was brilliant, only £11 for 2 persons. Freshly prepared by the owner who is a nice and charming lady. Free parking included. The room needs some work, e.g.not bright enough, and additional furniture, e.g. a tiny bedside table.

Everything was very tired & grubby. Bits of trim with screws sticking out were loose and lying on the floor. I didn’t dare use the kettle. It was the middle of a heatwave and there was no aircon or even a fan supplied. The “widescreen” tv was probably about 26” Light fittings were hanging off the wall. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.

The staff are amazing and very helpful, it was quick and easy to check in. The rooms are dated but they were clean and tidy just what we needed. It was very hot in the room so we went out and bought a fan which was a great idea. Our car was safe over night as they opened the shutters and let us park in the private area which was locked away. The breakfast in the morning was down in the basement room, this was a lovely cool room and a relief from the heat upstairs. Again staff were amazing and very friendly and the breakfast was cooked to order.

Needs the outside tidying up needs the entrance separate from the bar as people from the bar hang around the entrance and make you feel intimidated when coming back in the evening lift feels it's had better days and unsafe carpet had its day TV not working in room room tidy and clean passable no blankets breakfast you have to go down to the cellar which is turned into a dinning room suite smell of damp breakfast good and the lady very helpful

It was better than big names. We were amazingly surprised.

The breakfast was lovely, the staff extraordinarily friendly and helpful, and my room was clean and comfortable. My stay included a night where the local football club had a home match and there was a lot of screaming from people fighting late into the night, but it’s hard for a local establishment that relies on football business to deal with it. I’d just recommend avoiding around those times.

Nice basic hotel rooms above a pub close to city, small but secured (locked at night) car park, rooms are separate to the pub via a lift, I didn’t try the breakfast but it smelt great. My second time here and it served its purpose well, will definitely stay again if the price is right

I recently stayed at this hotel with my family, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing overall. The biggest issue was the door lock. It was very unreliable and failed multiple times. I had to go down to reception several times just to get access to the room, which was extremely inconvenient and frustrating. Another major problem was that the lift was not working. I had to carry my pushchair and manage my kids up to the third floor, which was very difficult and stressful. This made the stay even more uncomfortable for my family. The room cleanliness was acceptable, but the overall condition of the hotel was not great. The door looked very old, and the carpet was noticeably dirty, which made the place feel poorly maintained. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and helpful, which I appreciated. However, due to poor maintenance, the lift issue, and the constant problems with the door lock, I would not recommend this hotel unless significant improvements are made.

The pictures posted on your site are completly misleading. Absolutely awful. Completly run down both inside and outside! Trading standards will be made aware of this. It must of been a number of years since any care was put into the place. It took 10 minutes for the hot water to warm up in which time both sides of the shower leaked and the doors didn’t close. Pathetic attempt of a desk and ‘wardrobe’ with cracked wood and nails on show. And to be told that the road would be closed from 8 and breakfast had to be early because the football lot would be in by 9 is a joke. Safe to say breakfast was left as we couldn’t get away quick enough. Only reason we stayed was cause we live over 3 hours away. A mixture of the tv programme shameless/shaun of the dead and Jeremy Kyle is how I would sum this experience up. I will be looking for a refund and will 100% book another stay through this site.

Bed was comfy and clean. Not as pictures they must have been taken a long time ago. But for what we paid was okay with room.

Friendly team and appreciated the stay. Thank you and I will stay at this hotel again.

The staff was really rude and the room condition was horrible they didn’t even have dryer for hair

The hotel was full of people who I am unsure have a room booking. Lots of unpleasant noise from the rooms. The room itself was smelly and dirty. The reception staff were pleasant enough,We could not stay there so we moved to another hotel. Cheap and unpleasant would not go back there.

The moment I walked into the entrance, my expression was This is a homeless shelter or some kind of asylum. The hotel room was booked for my son and me. On our approach to the entrance of the so-called hotel, we were met with three individuals who were just in the entrance smoking what we could perceive as "Weed", while spitting just outside the entrance. From that moment, we did not feel safe staying at the hotel. On entry, in what looks like a bar/reception, we meet a lady who at first was unable to find our reservation. During this time, my son went back to the car as he did not feel safe being at the premises. I then asked the lady to cancel the reservation when she finally found it. However, she refused even though it stated on their booking reservation email that cancellation could be done until 11:30 pm. We were at the hotel at 11 pm. The room was dirty, hairs all over the bed, carpet was filthy. There is nothing Royal about this so-called hotel. We then left the hotel and made another reservation at the Park Regis Hotel Birmingham. I will be contacting Trading Standards if I am not issued a refund.
