Clean room finished to a good standard, good breakfast. Would stay here again

Position of hotel, good food.friendly bar and staff.

Lovely stay, however had a long wait for evening meal. Beautiful location.

Perfect for a last minute overnight stay in the lakes. Picked as it was the ideal location to the walk we planned. Room was small, but was perfect for what we needed. Very clean, all the required facilities, and the staff were amazing. Breakfast was also delicious.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful location, room was lovely and the staff very attentive. We had a very comfortable night's sleep, and breakfast was high quality, hot, and beautifully presented.

This was basic but did the job. I found the lack of attention toward customer experience disappointing. There was no ambience/ background music at breakfast making it all quite awkward and very quiet. No effort was made to mop up the table and floor from the leaking conservatory roof at breakfast, making one of the tables and chairs for breakfast unusable, which I found surprising. The service was slow (magnified by the poor ambience) and when it did arrive my beans arrived cold and needed returning for heating. My shower temperature could not be regulated, but was constantly very hot as opposed to cold and so could be used dipping in and out. Cleanliness was poor, however I was expecting something more rough and ready from the pictures and so wasn’t surprised. A fantastic location and good pub evening environment and atmosphere.

The only criticism i have is too late for booking in and on a personal note i think 08:30 is a little late for breakfast. Beside that i found the place fantastic. Great accommodation and friendly staff and ideally situated for exploring the lake district.

Good place to stay in coniston. The staff are friendly and very helpful especially Joe and Darren. Would recommend staying here

A decent place to stay! The room was fine, if a little cold, but the additional heater warmed it up well. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly and I had a lovely pint in the bar. Coniston is well worth a visit and The Sun is definitely worth staying at.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable pub/restaurant/hotel with its own parking. A wonderful terrace with great views to enjoy whilst having a afternoon/evening drink. Great spot for a short stay in the lakes.

Lovely room overlooking the beautiful scenery. The breakfast was fantastic and they even gave the dogs sausages which they loved.

My wife and I were due to be staying at The Sun for a second time having thoroughly enjoyed our previous visit. Unfortunately, I fractured my ankle the week before our latest trip and the management team at The Sun were extremely understanding and accomodating a booking move at short notice, something they weren't required to do via Hotels.co.uk. Lovely little hotel that serves great food and has the friendliest staff you will ever meet. Had a good sized, comfortable room with a lovely view. We’re very dog friendly, even cooking an extra breakfast sausage for her! Would highly recommend, we had a wonderful stay.
