The Trecarn Hotel

Staff were amazing lady on front desk was brilliant barman really nice Didn't use dinning room but food looks good Room needs a little more care found items from previous guests left Also don't replenish items have to go and ask at reception for any extra No onside parking did manage to park in the street and as we used the local buses wasn't an issue but high summer maybe isn't great Evening entertainment every night was a bonus bar prices reasonable

We've been staying at the Trecarn Hotel in Torquay at least twice a year for the past 5 years as it's within 10 minutes walk of our son and his family , Its comfortable but basic ,I think it could do with a good freshen up .Sadly this time wasn't quite as good , we had 2 choices of room .Up 2 flights of stairs as the lift wasn't working or down 1 flight which we took as we both have knee problems. My bed was uncomfortable as I could feel the mattress springs. Luckily the weather was hot so I put the duvet on top the mattress and used the bottom sheet as a top sheet . There was only I sachet of coffee on the tray and one spoon which as I'm dairy free we had to wash after each use .The bathroom wasn't very clean ,there was a long black hair on the back of the toilet and another in the bath along with a spider .The whole room was in need of a good clean and dusting and the bathroom floor a good wash especially in the corners .Maybe I'm a bit over the top as I am a cleaner in a large car dealership.But for what we paid I wasn't impressed this time .The staff were friendly especially the waitress as I'm gluten and dairy free ,they were very helpful and also one of the receptionist was a lady whose been there each time we've been staying there and always greets us with a smile .I think we will have to rethink about going there again.

Really nice hotel at the price point. Friendly helpful staff and excellent buffet breakfast. Parking was a bit tricky as it is on the road outside and fairly full whilst we were staying but we always managed to find a space. Very good location for beach / shops etc. Double bed seemed a bit small but comfy enough. Would certainly stay there again and will recommend to friends.

All staff on reception in the Friday night and Saturday at 10pm ish was helpful and kind. Bar man on Saturday very friendly. Hot weather so hot rooms. Had a dab but still hot. But still nice and good parking around and easy walk. Would use again.

It was a night stay, when arrived at the reception the lady just pointed the way to us without good explanation. We have to carry our loads going up the stairs looking gor our room number. Secondly we we brought out the fan it was very dirty and dusty, there wasn't any body wash, the shower head was barely running. There was webs around the bed. There wasn't any socket near the bed. I can't comment on their food as didn't have breakfast and I am glad I didn't. To get a parking space is very difficult too

Hotel a 3 minute walk to promenade,staff very pleasant and helpful. Down side……No on site car parking and building looking a little tired.

Staff was happy and welcoming when arrived but unfortunately the guy on desk when we left was not as friendly. Room was nice size and clean.was very disappointed with the choice of breakfast and tea choice i would not be happy to pay for what was on offer no one ask if there was anything whe would like as i can't eat fried eggs and mushroom would be nice othere then that it was a nice hotel and would stay again plus great entertainment was a bonus

Overall we had a good experience staying at this hotel. The price was bit expensive for a one night stay. The water flow from the wash basin as the shower was splashing. Other than this everything else was very good. Thank you.

Room was clean and well prepared. Staff were helpful and food was available in the hotel. Only complaint were coaches parked immediately outside bedroom window made room very dark and noisy and smelly exhausts whilst coaches were warming up for up to 30 minutes in the mornings sometimes at 6.00 am

We had a great stay while visiting The Babbacombe Theatre. Check in was easy, with a very friendly gentleman in reception showing us to our spacious room. We had a reasonable price drink in the bar before the show. On return we had a good night sleep. With a delicious buffet breakfast in the morning. We will be back!

We have stayed at the Trecarn several times. The staff are always very polite and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Paying extra for the executive room this time was more than worth it. It is what we will be doing in future. The only minor criticism is that the Wi-Fi reception in the room is virtually none existent, which combined with the poor cell reception in the area meant you had to go near reception if you needed to use your phone. If not for this minor inconvenience it would have been 5 stars instead of 4 stars.

Clean enough room, but very very tired. Shower was dirty and distinct lack or pressure but hotel was fine enough for what I needed. Breakfast wasn’t great - I’d not bother and go somewhere else. £12 for a breakfast that is a 2/10 at best is overpriced. Bar closes at 11pm apart from a Saturday where it was shut by 10.
