Location fantastic, staff the same, everything great

Good position in the town overlooking sea. Balcony room a plus. Had to pay for drinks and each meal course as it was ordered. Food tasty but could not fully exploit the menu as the chef was ill one day. Breakfast ciabatta with bacon excellent. Bit mean with the pots of tea but that was easily resolved. All staff pleasant and helpful.

The staff especially Sam were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a double sea view room, it was lovely and clean although small. Patio doors that lead on to the communal balcony so wasn’t much privacy. It was very hot in the evening, with only the tiniest window to open and you couldn’t leave the door open as anyone could access the room, so no air and no air conditioning..

While it looked like a great location on pictures the reality was even better. What a fab room nice and clean with fantastic views Easy to walk into the high street and to the beach. Lovely hosts really helpful and nice areas to sit. Will return

Nothing to write home about really. Food menu was considerably reduced because the freezer was broken, so we ate elsewhere. Breakfast was ok, once we were able to get served. Room small, limited storage and dark bathroom. Not many customers in evidence whereas other places along the road were buzzing. A bit of a let down.

We booked a last minute break as the weather was expected to be great and this little hotel and pub turned out to be every bit as good as the weather. The room was quite compact but equally very comfortable, and had the benefit of a balcony over looking the estuary and boat yard. The afternoon entertainment in the garden was really good as was the fresh fish, prawns and oysters served from the garden bar. The pub was especially busy due the sizzling bank holiday weather but all the bar and waiting staff did a brilliant job. I’m sure we will be visiting here again soon.

Great location, lots of seating in the front. Can store luggage, easy check in/out. Could have more/ improved amenities such as hair dryer and better mugs. Overall great stay.

Location lovely, staff happy and helpful, food excellent. The balcony was great but very tired and would have been nice if was prettier as the sunsets were amazing. The hotel gardens were ok but nothing special and no parasols available until our last day and we had asked a few times and we saw customers leaving because of it as the weather was delightful. Overall four star but just a few overlooked details were missing which would have made my review five star across all aspects. Parking for disabled was missing which was a shame as we felt unable to leave in case no parking available when we returned. Think should be more parking for all. Very clean and again staff very very nice.

We had room 4 which was very comfortable. It’s advertised as a King room so we expected a king sized bed which it didn’t have. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant this time but we have on previous occasions and it was always very good.

Really great room with comfy bed and balcony with a beautiful sea view. Nb the suite is one room plus a bathroom. The food at the restaurant is amazing. Great location. Lovely staff.

Breakfast was not included and not available at the time stated in our room, which was 8:30am. We went elsewhere to eat and returned to find the dining area finally open at 9am.

Great location, stunning view & nice comfortable room. All the staff were very friendly, & the food in the pub was fantastic.

The booking was made through Expedia with filters applied for 4 star hotels. There was a sign on the property indicating 4 star Inn. The sign was probably 20 years old or more. This is a pub with some letting rooms. Ours was in a converted outbuilding. Billed as a luxury double with garden views. The room was cramped, a double bed, 2 bedside cupboards, one bedside lamp. A dressing table with one chair, tea and coffee facilities. There was no wardrobe only an understairs alcove with a short hanging rail and 4 hangers. The door to the bathroom was swollen and needed a shoulder barge to open and close it. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall, etc. The bedroom carpet was badly stained in places. The 2nd night someone was in the room above and could be heard moving around - in fairness that could have been a lot worse. The garden is non existent; 3 rooms share a small fenced area with 3 trestle table and bench sets that have seen better days, set on a few paving slabs with gravel surround. Beyond the fence is a children's playground. The bed was comfortable and linen and towels clean but no one came to clean and tidy the room between nights. Breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon on toast was fine but served in a cereal bowl! Coffee was dire. Try the Coastal Cafe in town which opens at 9. Internet service was poor and intermittent. You have to walk past smelly bins at the back to get to the rooms. In short this was far from a 4 star hotel although priced much the same.
