Great staff and food. Lovely room, all in a wonderful setting.

Love to stay at the hotel because the food is good ,nice shower and quiet at night beautiful views to wake up to .

The view of the South Downs from our room was stunning. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing as was the service. shower gel was empty (luckily we came with a back up option) The wallpaper is coming away from the walls in the bedroom

It's a beautiful property with amazing Christmas decorations. Even if you aren't staying at the hotel, I would recommend dining there to get into a Christmas vibe. The food and staff were phenomenal. The rooms were lovely and had character. There were beautiful views of green hills and sheep. It was great to stay in an independent hotel like this, which was so charming.

Excellent overnight stay, lovely accommodation and very friendly & helpful staff.

Room was exceptionally small, made smaller with a design feature shelf. Catches on en-suite and windows broken, light bulb not working.

Lovely warm welcome and checkout. Seems to be a really friendly and professional team. Little touches like escorting you to your room count. Hotel is beautiful and in a stunning location. Room was really lovely with extras like a fan and hair dryer (if you need it). The absolutely scolding hot water was wonderful for a soak in the large bath tub. Molton Brown was also appreciated. TV was "Smart" so Netflix and Youtube available. Digital TV was not working in the morning - hardly an issue though. Only area that I marked down on was, because the mobile signal was nearly non-existent (Vodafone - not the hotels issue obviously), I had to rely on "Guest" wifi which was really poor to the degree working was difficult and streaming on Netflix was constantly having to spool. Whether this was the room's distance from an AP or high use, this should be addressed. I would definitely return and highly look forward to it too.

Staff really friendly, nice food. Good all round.

The access to the bath was a bit dangerous for an older person. Could do with handles.

we liked the age and the character of the property and the new editions were sympathetically done. The setting with the view of the downs was marvellous

Nice location. Parking easy. Comfortable bed. Did Not Like - Instructions for coffee machine not clear so had to get a kettle from reception. TV aerial had to be plugged in as had been removed. Shower floor was very slippery. I ended up with a bad cut on my toe. Needs a mat as an option. Check out time different from Expedia advert.
