Great place to stay

Should say Strood rather than Rochester as so close to Strood railway station, would have been handy to get out of the train there. Other guests had the same issue.

I wasn’t expecting much as it was not expensive but I was pleased with the cleanliness.

The hotel location is very close to the train station. The two gentlemen, front desk and the housekeeper are very helpful. The room is clean. We had great time staying there.

Staff were very friendly,and attentive.Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was a continental buffet style and had a good selection. Car park very close by £11.80 for 2 days .

Third time of staying at this hotel. TV wasn’t working properly and despite trying to fix it to no avail, we were moved to another room and given the choice of what room we wanted that was available.

I received a friendly welcome on arrival. Check-in was quick. The room was spacious, and quirky in its layout. There were plenty of plug spckets in the room including a usb socket close to the bed for charging my phone. I was in a room on the 3rd floor, and theres no lift, so traipsing up and down all the stairs was frustrating. The room was clean, but dated in appearance. The hotel is ideally located a few min walk from the train station and centre of town. My room was facing the train station so it was quite noisy, and theres no views from the windows.

This hotel is really a B&B, so don't expect a chain hotel's vibe or amenities. That said, I would recommend this a budget option. The rooms are small but clean and the beds were comfortable. You will have to walk up a couple flights of stairs as there is no elevator. We did not use the continental breakfast on offer. The owners kept us supplied with tea and coffee for the kettle in the room. The two gentlemen were very nice and accommodating, and allowed us to store our luggage prior to check-in. While the area initially appears sketchy, it is actually a commercial/residential neighborhood in a very convenient location. The Strood rail station is a block away (trains into London), and there is an Aldi about a 5 minutes walk and a shopping center (M&S, Poundland, Starbucks) about 10 minutes away. Then you can walk across the beautiful bridge to the Rochester Castle, the High Street (LOTS of shops and restaurants) and the Cathedral in 10 more minutes. This hotel is a good *budget* option to use as a home base for the Rochester/Chatham area.

Very reasonably priced, comfortable bed and nice shower. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Good location near the train station and a short walk to Rochester Castle. Only negative, just wish we could have opened the window a little more to let cool air in at night, it was unseasonably hot weather so wouldn’t be a problem most of the time. Overall recommend this hotel.

Clean and tidy room with tea and coffee. Staircase leading up to the rooms had dirty carpet.

Room needed a coat of paint, tap was too small to fill a kettle, toilet seat was broken.

I stayed in the hotel for a single night alone during my trip to England. The location is rather remote from the main city centre and the surroundings near the hotel are a bit dodgy, without any services nearby. On the positive side, the Strood train station is very near the hotel, so if using this station the location is very convenient. No reserved parking is available at the hotel, only regular street parking. The hotel itself is very barebones, with a tiny reception area and a very narrow staircase without an elevator. In general everything is clean, but cheap and worn out. Hotel does not have any services like a restaurant available. My room was the cheapest option and was a very tiny room on the top floor. It barely had space for the twin bed, and no air conditioning. The bathroom was small, but had all the needed amenities, i.e. shower etc. It was clean and in a good condition. The room was ok for a single person to stay for a short period, but two persons in this room would have been crowded. Hotel has a wifi available, but it worked quite poorly in my room, so the coverage is not very good. I had the optional breakfast, which was served in a small room in the basement of the hotel. The breakfast was very basic but had the usual options available, like toast, cereal and yoghurt. The very friendly hotel manager was serving fried eggs on request. In a summary, very simple and basic hotel with some reservations, but also very low price.
