A great place to stay. Wonderful staff

Convenient, good food, and nice people.

The staff were all exceptionally friendly and very helpful…. We went ‘off piste’ re the breakfast menu and this was not only accommodated with ease, but wonderfully cooked too. Bravo the chef 😘. The bed was comfy and spacious. The showers, hot and powerful. The only downside was that the room was slightly chilly and the plug in radiator did not work enough to warm it up….. The standard of cleanliness could have been better, but maybe that is determined by the age of the property….. We stayed 2 nights and had an upgrade of room for a very reasonable fee….

Really nice hotel with lovely staff. Food was really good had an amazing pork belly on my first night. Room was a little grubby looks like someone had blown a boggie on the wall. Also as its an old hotel could hear quite a bit of noise out side the room creaking doors and rattling glasses but no noise late at night and I had two excellent nights sleep. Hotel has lovely gorunds and a great view. I don't play but has a golf course.

Awful. I had a view out of my room with some broken down damage furniture. The room absolutely stunk of synthetic plug-in fragrances, bedding is cheap and the bed itself uncomfortable. Everything feels very tired and like it’s been bought from Matalan. Despite booking a hotel specifically for a dog I was told upon arrival that it was an additional £25 which made this an extremely expensive stay for such a substandard hotel. The entranceway is lovely, but as soon as you get into those rooms, it feels like you’re staying in someone’s grandma’s spare room. Dinner was extremely underwhelming-overcooked steak with no seasoning. i sat outside with the dog and the staff forgot we were there and ended up locking us out. Extremely disappointing stay.

Whole stay was excellent, rooms clean and spacious breakfast very good.

This is a lovely place to stay. The staff are very attentive and friendly, breakfast was excellent with good quality products…. I didn’t have dinner at the hotel, but the menu is varied and the people I saw eating seemed to be enjoying themselves. It’s less than 10 mins from the A38, through country lanes which makes you feel as if you are a lot farther from the hustle and bustle than you actually are…..a gem of a find and I will be back….

My room was in the main building on the first floor, it was really clean and with a good offering of complimentary water and hot drinks.

Everting was amazing Emily on Reception was Incredibly helpful And friendly and Sandy does a great job housekeeping. The rooms a super clean and comfortable. 100% will stay again

Staff were fine, check in was like a tressle table Room was tired and worn, shower room very tired also. Its a great building, farm house, built by Isambard Kingdom Brunell, The owner has not done justice to it. View was fantastic. Food was pretty good but not outstanding.

The staff in this place are wonderful. The food in the evening was really good and not too expensive. Just relaxing and quiet.

Lovely breakfast , nice location , out of the way , peaceful and tranquil, staff very professional.

As a regular traveller, I felt that the main course dinner portion was small, the fish was similar to a large fish finger, The lighting outside was poor with only one light to light the pathway outside the hotel and none for the car park which was very dark with no light from anywhere

The property is a really beautiful old building full of stunning character, my room was gorgeous, bed was the best hotel bed I’ve slept in, really clean and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and welcoming at all times. I asked for a room with a view and was given an upgrade as they weren’t busy which was so kind of them. I had a lovely stay despite the constant rain and will definitely return, my only issues were the both dinner and breakfast took a long time to come out, breakfast was an hour but it was delicious food.
