I stay in a lot of hotels travelling for work, This place is the cleanest accomodation I have ever had. Asoloutley faultless and being in engineering I pick up on the smallest of details. Breakfasts were fantastic too. The only place I would reccomend to stay on the Island

Rosemary and David are the perfect hosts. Friendly, caring and they pay attention to the details. Our room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities that we needed. The location is very central to the train station, beach and the old village. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back some day.

Enjoyed the breakfast, not so keen on so many rules and felt watched all the time. Hosts were nice but didn’t feel relaxed. Would think twice before booking again. Overall ok.

David and Rosemary were over the top hosts. The property has extensive extras not seen elsewhere that add value to our experience and highly recommend this property. They offered excellent made to order breakfast, best on this South England trip. If we were in area, we would definitely stay at this property again.

It is a very nice property and well run. Excellent breakfast. My only suggestion is softer, more comfortable pillows.

Westbury Lodge was an absolute saviour for us and our pup after having to leave two prior properties due to various issues. Rosemary and David were so welcoming upon our late arrival and chatted with us for a bit before taking us to our room. David even took our luggage up to the room for us when we arrived. The breakfast was amazing and thoughtful. The lounge and conservatory were both cozy and welcoming, and although it was a short stay, we enjoyed our time in those common areas on our last day. The bedroom was spacious, comfortable, and spotless, and the furniture had the lovely B&B feel. The property was a very short walk to the beach and was everything we wanted and needed. Thank you Rosemary and David for a perfect place to call home after a very rough few days.

We were greeted by our friendly hosts who were excited to be welcoming guests after lockdown. Lovely furnished, spacious, safely prepared room. The breakfast menu is 5 star and wish we had been staying longer to try all it offered.

Lovely hotel, Rosemary and David perfect hosts. Beautiful large room, everything you could want. Comfortable and clean, COVID compliant. Parking, free wi-fi. Breakfast was very good, cooked to order, plenty of choice. Easy walk to nearby restaurants and beach. Excellent stay and would recommend.

Excellent guest house. Would highly recommend. Rosemary and David are great hosts. Very comfortable rooms, clean and well decorated. Breakfast menu cooked to perfection every morning. Central quiet location. Downhill walk to the beach, uphill to return!! Lots of restaurant choices within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

From arriving to the moment we left the Owners made us feel most welcome. The B&B is perfectly located to the beach, shops, train station, costal path walks and of course travelling around the island. It’s very comfortable and clean with a great selection for breakfast using local produce. Highly recommend the Westbury Lodge Hotel and I most certainly would return.

Rosemary and David are by far the best hosts you would want in a B&B. They went out of their way to make our stay safe and comfortable under the current situation. Hand sanitising stations everywhere, rooms cleaned daily, tables correctly spaced. Breakfast was top quality. The room itself was large with a ceiling fan, the bed was comfortable, and I was even offered the use of his small back yard to lock my motorbike up in. Bad points......only booked 3 nights, should have stayed here longer.

They have everything covered. If you need beach towels, your wine cooled, milk... they got it. Very nice and helpful owners, lots of tips about the island. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room really clean. The curtains were good and the hotel and neighbourhood are silent, promoting great rest. Breakfast is cooked to order and really tasty, with fresh fruit and a lot of cooked options. They are taking all the precautions on covid 19 and I felt safe. The only downside is that is quite a steep return from the beach to the hotel because the lift isn’t currently working.

We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts and enjoyed excellent, freshly cooked breakfasts of good quality. Many thoughtful gestures throughout the week enhanced our break and were more than we would have expected, Our room was light and airy and the towels, linen and toiletries offered luxurious comfort. The communal areas were spacious and comfortable, we enjoyed sitting outside in the evening to round off the day. We had a very refreshing stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Restrictions and recommendations in line with COVID 19 were observed at all times Making us feel confident and assured. Shanklin was a great place to base ourselves, there were plenty of walks, shops and eating places as well as transport options when we decided to have a break from driving. Thank you, we had a great time!

Our stay was great. We could not fault it. The owners were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and the ensuite was a good size too. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and the choice from the menu and buffet was plentiful. Would definitely recommend it and would go back again ourselves.

My boyfriend and I spent four nights at Westbury Lodge over the Isle of Wight Festival weekend. The service was great, lots of time to check in and out, plenty of parking, good wifi, and amazing breakfasts made to order every single morning, along with buffet options. The bedrooms were also cleaned daily and had kettles and tea bags, biscuits, etc. for guests. Also, the room had a fanlight, so during one of the hotter weekends of the year we could stay cool. The location was also brilliant, a short walk from the beach, the Shanklin Chine, and the old town.

Kath is a great host, nothing too much trouble. Great hotel, quiet and spacious. Beds very comfortable. Lovely little extra touches, bathrobes, grooming kit as well as shower caps. Lovely large fluffy towels. Plenty of variety for breakfast and if you wanted hot breakfast, they cooked to order.

Perfection! Beautifully appointed, serene, well maintained Victorian home, high on the hill by the sea in Shanklin. Welcoming hosts, delightful breakfast. Updated and luxurious.
