Das Marelen Hotel war für uns die perfekte Unterkunft auf Zakynthos. Eine sehr schöne Hotelanlage, super saubere Zimmer, ein tolles, abwechslungsreiches Buffet morgens und abends, schöne Poolanlagen mit Poolbar (sehr empfehlenswerte kleine Snack-Karte) und extrem freundliches, unaufdringliches Personal. Außerdem tägliche Zimmerreinigung inkl. Handtuchtausch sowie ein Set Poolhandtücher, die jeden zweiten Tag getauscht werden konnten. Die Touristenmeile von Kalamaki mit Shops und Restaurants ist fußläufig. Der Strand war nur 3-5 Gehminuten entfernt (kein Zutritt nach Sonnenuntergang).
Die Lage des Hotels ist unweit des Flughafens, wer sehr geräuschempfindlich ist, kann sich von den landenden und startenden Flugzeugen gestört fühlen. Für uns war das kein Problem. Das Publikum war sehr international, leicht britisch dominiert. Mit Englisch kommt man super durch.
Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer mit zwei Schlafzimmern, einem großen Balkon und einer kleinen Pantry. Die Klimaanlagen waren einfach zu bedienen und kaum zu hören. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Das Bad war doch arg klein und die Dusche nicht ganz dicht. Aber das ist echt Meckern auf hohem Niveau.
Abends konnte man es sich an der Cocktailbar gemütlich machen, der Barkeeper hatte eine exzellente Playlist am Start. Die unvermeidlichen Live-Gesangs- und Tanzauftritte 2-3x pro Woche hätten wir nicht gebraucht.
Alles in allem ein toller Urlaub im Marelen - auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung wert.

In conclusion, I'm very satisfied with the very nice staff and the very kind service.
The three women at the reception desk were very kind and gave us unreasonable requests and advice. Thanks to them, we were able to rent a car and go to see the nicer scenery. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Also, the facilities are clean, and I think it is a very nice place with a short walk to the beach. Is the shower seawater? I was a little surprised by that, but I was able to adjust the temperature without any problems, and I had a comfortable time.
I had a great time with someone singing at the poolside at night.
Anyway, everything was perfect.
I would definitely like to recommend this hotel.

I highly recommend this hotel to stay at Zakynthos! We wanted to save money so we decided to walk there from the airport thought it took one hour. The hotel staff noticed we were tired when we wanted to check in so she gave us orange juice. This made me so happy and that healed our exhaustion ! All the hotel facilities are very good except for wifi! You need to pay if you wanna use wifi in your room. There was a concert of female singer at the bar, which was amazing! I hope that she will sing various songs like ABBA or popular pop songs supported by young people so that we could enjoy more!

Lovely hotel room was nice had a fridge and a lovely balcony, pool are was also really nice not to crowded also had an adults only pool and kids, staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is prefect 2 minutes away from the beach and 5-15 minutes away from shops and restaurants

It‘s a great hotel but it’s at the extension of the airport, so lots of planes overhead. The breakfast and dinner buffet was very good, with gluten-free options. The staff was absolutely wonderful. The only negativ point is the smoking. Nowadays there should be smoke free areas. It was very disgusting to be constantly enveloped in smoke at the pool.

The Marelen was perfect for us, the breakfast had many options, the pool bar was top notch service, its location is perfectly between the beach and main road for shops etc.
We were visiting for a few days for a wedding so staying in different hotels and multiple people mentioned how they really liked our hotel compared to others in the area - we are hoping to be back for a proper holiday next year!

Hotel is recommended. The hotel staff were all really friendly, rooms were clean and the facilities good. Food options were great with the added bonus of traditional greek dancing at the Eden Cocktail bar. Close to bars and restaurants, and short walk to the beach.

Unterkunft insgesamt gut. Das Zimmer spartanisch praktisch, keine Besonderheit. Die Einrichtung hatte die besten Zeiten hinter sich. Trotzdem gute und tägliche Reinigung. Die Anlage insgesamt gut. Lediglich der laute lärm landender und startender Flugzeuge vom sehr nahen Flughafen haben den morgendlichen Schlaf gestört. Das Personal sehr freundlichen, höflich und hilfsbereit an allen Stellen.

We've just returned home from an absolutely wonderful 10 night stay at this hotel. All of the friendly staff work very hard and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. There was a great variety of hot and cold food at breakfast, which we enjoyed every day. The hotel grounds and gardens are beautifully well maintained. We also loved the separate pool for adults only, which offered a peaceful retreat. The hotel's location is perfect for access to the nearby beach and the main Kalamaki 'strip', with a great choice of restaurants, bars and supermarkets. We will definitely be back to the Merelen Hotel!

Property had everything we needed. Breakfast was a buffet with 8 large stations (all type of options). 5 minute walk from the beach (no rocks at all and the beach was so shallow you could swing out quite a distance). Cabs were pretty accessible with short wait times, 10 min walk from one of the strips with plenty of restaurant and shopping options. 10 minute cab ride to the airport
