We are family of 4, and wanted to stay near Diamond beach and the glacial lagoon. This property is 10 min drive away. Spacious functional stand-alone house with separate bedroom, living room and kitchen. Cute and unique. Quiet and nice surrounding with waterfall walking distance. Received two instructions to checked-in, one to drive 3km away to get code, and another to checked in directly using given code. Wanted to make sure, hence drove the distance to get the code, turned out the same. Some heating radiators, as well as hair dryer not working well. No extra rubbish disposal bag. No washing machine nor dish washer. No slippers. No shampoo nor conditioners. Small and cold toilet and shower area. Not cheap either. Use this as place to stay the night, if necessary.

Prachtig appartement met een schitterende ligging tegen de berg aan met uitzicht op de waterval. Goede bedden. Boven een vide met 2 bedden, echter geen gordijnen! In het voorjaar/ zomer is de slaapkamer de hele nacht licht. Inchecken via Gerdi guesthouse op 2 minuten rijden.

PERFECT get-away for our first family vacation to Iceland. The views from our adorable cabin were amazing, and the staff was helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend!

There was a long line at check-in so we had to wait about 10 minutes and then drive to our room which was only a few minutes away. The Wi-Fi wasn’t working when we first got there, but they sent someone over to check it out and the problem was fixed within the hour. We were able to see the northern lights from the front yard and we really enjoyed the big front porch. There were also waterfalls right in our backyard.

The room unfortunately had bed bugs. It was our first night in Iceland and thankfully we were only 1 night at the property. In addition 1 of 2 heaters in the living room was not working and so it was colder than it needed to be. Communication with the host was poor - we reached out a number of times on the bed bug issue but got no response. Am just glad that the stay was only one night and didn’t ruin the rest of our vacation

Lovely location (10 mins to Diamond beach / Glacier Lagoon) with a beautiful mountain view. However, external modern images don’t match the dated interior. It needs a refresh. Kitchen is old and has the bare minimum of items ( 2 bowls). Washing liquid was watered down. It just felt as if you were getting the bare minimum which is disappointing for the price. Check in process isn’t that clear (read the notes as check in is at another property). Wasn’t a massive issue but there was a lack of response to communication when this question was asked. Loft bedroom doesn’t have a curtain.

Nettes Häuschen an guter, ruhiger Lage. Gefallen hat uns auch, dass jedes Schlafzimmer ein eigenes Badezimmer hatte. Kritikpunkt: Wir hatten das Cottage No. 2, bei welchem die Heizung im Stubenbereich (Sofa, Fernseher) nicht ging. Beim Esstisch stand ein etwas kleinerer, mobiler Heizkörper, der jedoch niemals den ganzen Wohnbereich auf eine angenehme Zimmertemperatur brachte. Wir waren drei Nächte da und machten gleich nach der ersten Nacht Meldung bei der Rezeption des Gerði Guesthouse. Die schickten auch noch am Morgen eine Dame vorbei, die die Heizung prüfte und "ihrem Chef" Bescheid geben wollte. Danach geschah aber gar nichts mehr; keine Ersatzheizung und keine Nachricht. Fazit: Es war und blieb sehr kalt im Wohnbereich (draussen ca. -8 Grad) und wir konnten nur dick angezogen dort verweilen. Das war enttäuschend, insbesondere der Umstand, dass sie niemand mehr kümmerte.

We had a great experience staying at the Old Cottages. The location is absolutely amazing, with a beautiful waterfall right out back that made the setting feel peaceful and unique. The layout of the cottage was well thought out and comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy our time there. Everything we needed was provided, and the surroundings were perfect for unwinding. We truly enjoyed our stay and only wish we had more time to spend there. We would definitely love to come back in the future.

Great location - less than 15 minutes from Jokulsarlon / Glacier Lagoon. Cozy cabin with beds for 6, great view of the waterfall, and 2 close restaurants. Perfect for families or big groups.

This cottage was amazing! Cute, clean, comfortable, quiet. It was everything we could have wanted and all that we needed for a family of 4 (two teens). It was no problem to check-in at Gerdi's nearby. It is a little hard to find, so you may either need some patience in the dark or want to arrive while it's light. It's worth it though! Bonus: the waterfall is lit up at night, so during the short days of winter, it can be enjoyed. You can hear and see the waterfall when outside but not inside, so it does not disturb sleep. Highly recommend this place!

I booked the luxury modern cabin and it was neither. The location you check in is about 5 mins down the road. The TV didn’t work but I didn’t feel like driving back to let them know. The waterfall behind the property was beautiful but I would book a different hotel next time.

門口明明有放鎖匙的codelock，但不知道為何要我到餐廳拿password，再回bnb開codelock拿鎖匙。Old cottage是一間有特色的bnb，它沒有很寬敞，是小小的很cozy那種，廁所很整潔，小小一個房子有兩個浴室也很讚。

The cottage was clean, nicely updated, and very comfortable. The staff at the location of check in were not friendly; and even though they touted laundry as an available amenity, it was clear they disnt want to honornthat. We ended up washing clothes in the sinks at the cottage.

The Old Cottage was a small drive from reception. This proved to be worthwhile since it was beautifully located in front of waterfalls and among trees. It was truly wonderful to be in an accomodaiton that allowed you to enjoy the natural beauty of Iceland. The accomodation was also very spacious and clean. My party was extremely happy to have seperate spaces in the property. We wish we were able to stay longer. The staff was very helpful in communicating with me and I appreciated the fact that they had breakfast/dinner available.

Beautiful location with waterfalls right behind. Easy to access and park. Check in took a bit of time as had to go to another property and received the code which could have come via email or message instead but was close by anyways. Property was very nice. Person at check-in was friendly and helpful. Spacious cabin with plenty of room for our family of 5. Nice beds, nice bathrooms and kitchen was great.

We loved our stay in the luxury cottage. It was bright and clean and perfect for our family of 3. The location is great for doing things in the south such as Diamond Beach/Jökulsárlón Lagoon, Múlagljúfur Canyon, and Svartifoss. We would recommend the luxury cottage.

Very nice cottage. Clean and we enjoyed our night there. A bit pricey for my taste but it met our needs. The check in process is weird. You have to drive to a completely different location to check in and then drive to the cottage with the code to get the key to get into the cottage. Not sure why they made it more difficult than it has to be. Otherwise everything else was fine.
