Staff struggles with English, the room phone is too noisy, and there’s no lift access for senior citizens in deluxe rooms. The duty manager is rude, and reception staff is unprofessional, even unable to retrieve booking info from Expedia.

We had booked two nights through Hotels.com . During checkin we told them that we wanted to stay for one night instead. It was not a prepaid booking. So we thought it would be no problem. The front desk asked us to contact Hotels.com. We did and they said it was up to the local management.. the local management would not relent and charged us for two nights. We checked out after one night and we thought it wasn’t worth the hassle arguing over it.
So beware. Even though it’s part of an American chain, it’s an Indian operation and you can be overcharged.
On the plus side the people were friendly..
you might do better staying at other hotels.

The hotel was incredible specially the view and its surrounded in nature. Rooms are big and well maintenaned equipped with a balcony.
Food was excellent buffet breakfast.

Overall, the experience felt disappointing given the pictures and also the 5 star pricing. The staff and quality of service is really far from being 5 star.
From check-in to the stay, service was a big let down.
The property itself is large and well-designed. It feels run-down in certain aspects (like furniture in the room) but overall pretty good. Food is decent as well. Although I was disappointed that a hotel of this size did not have a coffee machine!! But the staff left so much to be desired - there's no focus on client comfort, no preempting of needs of clients - especially senior citizens. We booked this place in spite of the distance from main temple etc expecting a 5 star level service and facilities. In my next visit I would try some of the other hotels closer to the temple and the beach.

Hawthorn provided us with the best food & location. Rooms were spacious, clean & decorative. The staff was at their best specially Mr. Aadil & Ms. Ronak. We had made a special request of cake & that too was take care of.
