The staff were so lovely, really helpful and the facilities on site are also amazing! The food was really nice and the rooms are really modern, clean and tidy. Would highly recommend booking the villa if you are going to be staying here! Only downside water in shower was slightly cold!

Wonderful, peaceful stay in Ubud. Close enough to the centre to take advantage of the restaurants, shops and activities, whilst set back with a beautiful view over rice fields. We loved our stay here, the staff were so friendly and personable, they really got to know us during our stay. The pool is fabulous, the grounds of the hotel well kept and accommodation is comfortable and well appointed. We were travelling with our baby and found the hotel perfect for our needs, helpful that the accommodation is close to the pool and everything on one level to walk between our room, pool and restaurant. The free morning yoga on Friday was a highlight too in their delightful yoga studio in the rice fields. We would love to stay again!

Mathis was an amazing experience, the calm the view the food was awesome it was great to find everything in one place 20 out of 10 for the service everyone was so welcoming definitely we will be back.

Heerlijk verblijf hier gehad. Vanaf de drukke weg kom je in een paradijsje. Het zwembad met uitzicht over de rijstvelden geeft je toch echt het Bali gevoel. We zaten in de bungalow die erg ruim is en veel privacy biedt. Eten kan je prima hier. In de buurt zijn er ook restaurants. Personeel is heel attent en vriendelijk.

Un joli établissement face à une rizière et en dehors de la foule d’Ubud. Une préférence pour les chambres « upstairs ». Je recommande !

Hôtel fantastique a tout point de vue : L’accueil en premier lieu, l’hôtel dans son ensemble avec une fantastique piscine donnant sur les rizières, les bungalows très beaux et enfin un excellent restaurant !!! Que du bonheur, une excellente adresse sans hésiter Merci pour tout

From 1 to 9 May 2022 I first stayed in the Mathis Retreat next to the rice fields of Penestanan, at walking distance from Ubud, Bali's cultural capital. Every day started by enjoying the calming beauty of the landscape with breakfast served by wonderful, sincerely friendly and respectfully curious (genuine interest in the guest) staff. Management offered me to then to move and stay on the Mathis hill resort at the eastern Bali coast village of Amed. An entirely different but equally exceptional, beautiful place, where staff welcomed me with the same wonderful friendliness and professionalism. Every detail of physical and management environment of both resorts was planned for optimum environmental sustainability - I felt at home in nature, not feeling a polluting consumer, but a welcome part. Très bel hôtel, le cadre est magnifique. Notre chambre était grande est belle avec petite terrasse privative. Il y a des chambres avec vue directe sur les rizières. Petit bémol, se serait judicieux d avoir la carte du petit déjeuner en français comme la carte du restaurant. Le manager Jean Marc très sympa et le personnel très souriant et cordial. Le plus, navette toutes les heures pour le centre d ubud avec retour à la charge du client, mais peu cher environ 4 euros.

Super hôtel, belle piscine, personnel agréable, et le cadre vraiment top. Attention cependant, je déconseille totalement de passer par l'hôtel pour l'organisation de vos journées (visites, treks etc), même si on vous vendra que les excursions proposées ne sont pas faisables par soi même etc... la seule chose que vous gagnerez sera de payer votre excursion 3 à 4 fois plus cher que le prix normal. Il est en effet largement possible d'organiser ces journées soi même avec un chauffeur extérieur.

너무너무좋은숙소, 외진데 있기때문에 주위는 조용하고 셔틀이 있어 센트렐까지는 쉽게갈수있음 너무 좋은뷰와 조식은 정말최고이며 힐링했음 인테리어 하나하나 신경안쓴데가 없을정도로 아름다움

Accueil fantastique, les conseils et la gentillesse de Karine sont exceptionnels (conseil pour les restaurants et les excursions qu'elle peut organiser) sans oublier l'accueil de tout le personnel. Le restaurant Terra Cota est super on y mange des plats très fins (le meilleur de Ubud voire de Bali. La chambre très confortable, belle salle de bains. La piscine avec vue sur les rizières est superbe. Tout est parfait. On peut y aller les yeux fermés, pour vivre un grand moment de plaisir.

Die Besitzerin hat das Hotel sehr schön und liebevoll gestaltet, hat uns am morgen nach unserer Ankunft persönlich begrüßt und uns Tipps für Ausflüge in und um Ubud gegeben. Der empfohlene Guide hat uns viel von der balinesischen Kultur erzählt und gezeigt. Die Preise der Touren sind etwas teuerer, dafür sind die Eintritte und ein Mittagessen inkludiert. Die Massage im Spa war wundervoll und die Speisen im Restaurant lecker, das Restaurant ist aber eher teuerer als in den Restaurants in Ubud. Auf jedenfall ist das Mathis Retreat weiterzuempfehlen.
