田舎道を走り続けていると突然大きな看板が現れます。こんなところに？と意外に思いましたが、着いてみると宿泊客だけでなくディナーを食べに来たお客さんで賑わってました。地元では割と有名なようです。 宿の方はとても親切。お部屋のインテリアはクラシックな感じですがバスルームは近代的です。周辺は大変静かで、向かいの丘から牛が鳴くのが聞こえて牧歌的な気分になりました。翌朝の朝食も大変美味しかったです。宿の飼い犬にも大歓迎してもらいました。また来たいと思います。

Great, friendly staff and atmosphere. His trip, suggestions and help with finding all the picturesque sites on the map made our day!

We stayed in the coach house room built in 1600’s, so quaint and so much character. The gardens are stunning, even though it was raining, took a quick walk to appreciate them. Lots of breakfast choices cooked to your liking. John (the owner) was lovely and took the time to explain the property to us.

What a delightful stay in a well styled Manor. All the rooms are tastefully appointed & in keeping with the era which gives a warm homely feeling to your stay. Delightful staff eager to help, made our stay even more homely. The showers are difficult to use & perhaps a queen bed to replace the double size would be our only positive criticism. Despite these small criticisms the stay was just delightful.

An elegant old property suffering from deferred maintenance due to its’ age and complexity!

Sauberkeit war mittelmäßig. Unterkunft war recht schön. Sie hatten eine Cabin. Frühstück eine Frechheit. 30 Minuten auf die Bestellung gewartet. Man durfte ein Gericht vom Menü bestellen. Nach ewigem warten kam dann das Essen. Gegessen hat man in 2 Minuten, da es ein Ei war und etwas Speck oder 30g Müsli… Von allen 4 Portionen wäre einer satt geworden… Wir sind danach in ein Restaurant gegangen und haben nochmals frühstücken müssen. Doppelt bezahlt…

John was a great host and the room was fantastic!

We loved our stay at the Woodhill house. The host was amazing. We enjoyed a late dinner, drink, and conversation in the cozy bar/lounge the night of our arrival. Breakfast the following morning was delicious and the staff was very attentive. The property is older and needs some TLC, but still charming and well worth the money and drive.

Lovely historic old home/inn. Quiet. Convenient walk into town for dining.

There wasn’t much we liked about it. The welcome was lukewarm. The pictures are not a bit accurate; sooo outdated and the “gardens” have not been looked after for decades it seems. The shower was a trickle of lukewarm water. The food was not great. The so-called bar was not a welcoming gathering area. We were excited to leave.

John and his staff are welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was great. Woodhill House is old world beautiful !!! We just loved it there. After a day of sightseeing it was nice to come back relax have a pint and good conversation with John. Will definitely be back!!!!

A hidden gem in Ardara —peaceful, charming, and relaxing. I stayed with my family at Woodhill House in Ardara for one night during our recent trip to Ireland, and it was easily one of the most memorable stays of our holiday. The house is nestled in a secluded, bucolic setting surrounded by beautiful gardens, mature trees, and stone work that add to its peaceful charm. The atmosphere was incredibly serene, a true retreat from the hustle and bustle. The house itself felt more like a warm, welcoming home compared to any other place we stayed. It’s full of character, with personal touches, family photos, antiques, and heirlooms that give it a rich sense of history and comfort. The bar and dining areas are equally inviting. The dining room is elegant without being stuffy, and the bar/den is cozy and full of charm. John, the owner, was friendly and very accommodating, and all the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They were kind, attentive, and genuinely interested in us and our trip, which made the experience feel even more special. The included traditional Irish breakfast was one of the best I had during my entire two-week trip. It was generous, absolutely delicious, and beautifully prepared. Ardara is truly a special place. I can't recommend "Triona - Donegal Tweed Visitor Centre" enough! I would highly recommend staying here, and I’d return in a heartbeat. A truly special place that feels like stepping into a peaceful, well-loved corner of Ireland.

Staff was great but room was very dirty. We got there late so I didn’t bring it to the staffs attention. It was old and dirty.
