Just got back from a stay at Hotel Excelsior in the Dolomites and honestly, it was perfect. The sauna area was really nice and relaxing after a day out exploring. Food was excellent across the board, from the breakfast spread to the salad buffet at dinner. They’ve got a solid wine list, great coffee, and every meal came with a view that made you want to linger a little longer. The staff were super friendly and made everything feel easy and relaxed. Lucia gave us an amazing hike recommendation that turned out to be the highlight of the trip — the surrounding nature is absolutely stunning in October (insane fall colours!) and perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors. And the view from the pool? Maybe the best I’ve ever seen. Couldn’t recommend it more.

This is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. I was not excited about the food being included, but once we got there and realized the value put into quality food and whole ingredients, my mind changed! The staff is amazing. The owner of the property shows up each night to greet the guest before dinner. It’s a magical place.

"Eigentlich" ein top Hotel, wäre da nicht... Das Zimmer war eines der "Älteren" da wir mit Hund anreisten. In den 2024 neu gebauten Zimmern, dürfen keine Hunde übernachten. Trotzdem waren wir positiv von diesem "alten" Zimmer überrascht. Die Einrichtungen des Hotels sind klasse: das Adult-only Rooftop Spa ist modern, der Pool bietet eine tolle Kulisse, es könnte aber mehr Liegen geben. Das Family Spa ist auch schön, vor allem für die Kleinen (wir sind jedoch kinderlos). Das Essen war gut bis sehr gut. Nur einmal waren wir beim Diner vom Lamm enttäuscht, das war trocken und hart - sonst aber immer top. Das Frühstück ist reichlich, es gibt sogar Tüten um am Abreisetag noch eine Snacktasche zu packen - spitze! Nun zum Problem: bereits beim ersten Frühstück sahen wir, dass die Partnerin am Nebentisch wohl krank wurde und der Herr alleine neben uns saß. Da dachten wir uns noch nichts dabei. Am nächsten Tag ein anderes Bild: die Frau saß neben uns, weil der Mann krank war. Auch an anderen Tischen fehlten Personen. Dann am späten Nachmittag überkam mich ebenfalls erst Übelkeit dann Durchfall. Meine Frau war alleine beim Abendessen und erneut: Personen an Tischen fehlten. In der darauffolgenden Nacht erwischte es sie ebenfalls. Wir waren nicht reisefähig und mussten eine Folgenacht buchen. Leider war die Hotelleitung sehr defensiv. Wenn das halbe Hotel krank wird, erwarte ich eine Art "Krisenplan" - proaktiv kam hier jedoch gar nichts. Schade, statt 5 Sterne, sind das nun maximal 3.
