We used the hotel as base to explore Florence. The hotel was clean, quiet and had good a/c. Hotel staff was very helpful in finding parking and giving directions around the neighborhood. In the summer parking is not an issue, you can park almost anywhere. Breakfast was good. Overall we had a good stay. Hotel is good for travel with kids. Also reasonable price compared to other options in the area.

The accommodations were great. Just finding parking was a difficult task

L'hotel si trova molto vicino al centro storico di Prato, in una zona comoda. C'è anche un parcheggio pubblico (a pagamento) vicinissimo. Lo abbiamo usato solo come punto d'appoggio perché stavamo fuori tutto il giorno, e per le nostre esigenze è stato perfetto. Check-in veloce, personale cordiale e presente H24. La stanza era di giuste dimensioni, con un bagno e una doccia spaziosi. Bagno, camera e letto erano puliti. La struttura non è recentissima e in qualche punto si nota "lo scorrere del tempo" , ma nulla di problematico considerato che non stiamo parlando di un hotel di lusso: mi interessa il fatto che fosse pulito e il letto comodo. Al bagno i saponi sono in dispenser riempibili, scelta più sostenibile a livello ambientale, apprezzata. Nella zona, soprattutto il sabato sera, c'era molta confusione, ma dalla stanza con le finestre chiuse (l'aria condizionata è molto efficiente) non abbiamo sentito nulla. Unica pecca è che dalle persiane entra un po' di luce al mattino. Non abbiamo usufruito della colazione. In generale consigliato per chi ha bisogno di un posto centrale e pratico per dormire, con una buona pulizia e un prezzo fattibile.

Hard to reach

We had a great experience here. It was clean, with great staff, and had good complimentary breakfast every morning. What more can you ask for? It’s also in the heart of Prato, a fairly quiet community, with easy access to Florence. The train station is a 10 minute walk away. Pay 2.80 Euros for a one-way ticket from Prato Centrale to Firenze Santa Maria Novella station. The trains back to Prato run pretty late as well, so you don’t have to worry about rushing back to the hotel. If we were to come back to Florence (and vicinity) I would definitely consider staying here again.

I stayed here twice. Found this hotel a couple years back, and both the hotel and the town is nice. Very helpful and friendly staff. Basic hotel, and a little tired, but as long as it's clean and I can have a good sleep, it's enough for me. It's approx 10 min. walk from Prato Centrale railway station, and only takes about 22 min. from Firenze Santa Maria Novella station.

Amazing Hotel! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The area is very lively with lots of shops, restaurants, transportation and cafés. I travel often to Prato for work and would definitely stay here again..An overall great experience.10/10.

Très bien situé et très bon accueil. Parking gratuit la nuit et quelques euros pour la fin d'après-midi et le debit de mâtinée. Un bon choix

The San Marco is a lovely, no frills hotel. Very convenient and comfortable. Perfectly situated. Friendly, helpful staff.

Prato city centre hasn’t got many accommodation options and this hotel, on paper was the pick of them. Don’t know how it got its 9.2 rating? We did get to check in a little earlier which was fantastic. We dumped our bags and went out for a bite. When we returned, we realised they gave us a room with a double bed instead of a queen that was booked. We went to reception to ask if we could change to the room we paid for and the man behind the desk became hostile stating we should have told them earlier. After saying we only just put our bags in the room, we were allowed to move to a room with a queen bed - that we paid for. This room was in the middle of being renovated. It was also very noisy from 8.00am onwards from housekeeping and other guests. Good location, but would not stay here again.

Excellent service. Very close to train station.

The staff was excellent. They helped with directions to banks, train and dining. We arrived late and our room was ready. Very clean rooms. Staying there again on our way back state side.
