Villa Sonate is idealy located and has all the charms of home away from home. The service is excellent and the property is well maintained. They serve the best breakfast one can ever get on the island. This property is five stars.

Pool was out of service our entire stay!! Golf course was closed down! And those were the amenities we paid for. What's the point of Jamaica with no pool

I arrived a day early to Jamaica for a wedding and needed a place to stay for the night. I’m always looking for a great deal but try to find something local and safe. I read reviews so I know how important they are. I was skeptical of the price because normally it means the place is dirty or unsafe. The Villa Sonate is neither! Upon arriving I immediately noticed that it was a gated property with a security guard that verified my reservation before escorting me to the front desk where I was welcomed by Jo and another lovely woman who checked me in. The check in process was simple and I was able to pay by credit card without any hassle. I was then given a welcome drink which I think was a mango smoothie which was delicious. I was shown to my room which had its own private covered balcony with a gate I was unaware that dinner Was an option when booking through Expedia and I did not want to explore the area because I was extremely tired. I was told dinner reservations needed to be booked in advance, however Jo reached out to the cook and were able to provide a beautiful dinner. I had the mixed chicken and fish plate with rice and vegetables. It was absolutely delicious and the vegetable were magnificent. My room was very clean spacious and had everything I needed. The TV had Netflix and the Wi-Fi was reliable across the property. There were not many people staying at the villa, so it did feel like I was being catered to as a special guest, which felt great. Great place! Thx!!!

Didnt like that there was no easy access to take a shower in the jacuzzi. Found the access dangerous with no alternatives to taking a shower.

This my fourth time staying here and its my home away from home. Excellent staff and very clean accommodation. Staff very attentive to all my needs. I highly recommend . Great breakfast.

We visited for 4 days, 3 night and had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The Jamaican breakfast was delicious! We also ordered dinner one evening and it was wonderful as well. The food was flavorful and we can tell fresh ingredients were used. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. The room has a fan and an ac unit so the temperature is always comfortable. Its a very quiet environment. I wish I could have dipped in the pool but it kept raining on and off while we were there. Some minor things to make note of - the roads leading to the hotel are pretty bad so take caution when driving. The shower drain in the bathroom was pretty clogged the first couple nights we were there, but when we informed them of the issue, housekeeping and maintenance quickly fixed it. The cable on the TV didn’t work, but the tv has access to streaming apps which we watched instead. The beds are also on the harder side. We met one of the owners during our stay, and she is a very lovely lady!!! If you’re looking for a lowkey, homey, bed and breakfast with delicious food, this is the perfect stay!! It’s also a great opportunity to support a black business!!

Love the staff there receptionist, waiters, waitress, bartender chef everyone was so warm and welcoming
