Convenient location to the embassy

Great staff. Very helpful and kind. Great breakfast. Had reliable hot water. Comfortable beds. Drawbacks: hard towels and no space heaters in cold season.

I had a great time. Very clean place and great location in the Gigiri area close to thd UN and the US embassy.

Helpful staff, a quiet location, and a more homely feeling than what one often gets. I will be happy to stay again.

Poor internet connection and Orchid is not providing transport to its guests

The house was quiet and clean and the staff easy going and friendly. Four of my five breakfasts I ate alone, but on the last morning I had the fascinating company of a Sudanese guest who attended a meeting at the UN compound. The location was perfect for me, as it was 8 minutes walking from a CrossFit gym where I could train early in the morning - same place where one can buy handcraft and eat or drink throughout the day, and 15 minutes walking from the UN compound, where I was attending a workshop. On the last day I could check out in the morning before going to my meeting, and leave my bag in the reception until I could pick it up in the afternoon, which was convenient.

Returning to Orchid Homes felt like returning home! A simple but lovely guest house, location is ideal for access to the UN Compound, and an easy walk to Craft Centre or Village Market. Wifi works well, staff is friendly, rooms are clean.

A nice old mansion, very quiet. The pool was too cold to swim in.

My wife and I are seniors. They gave us a room in the attic. Two flights of stairs with no lift and no help. The room had no internet and we did not want to go down again to complain. There is no phone in the room. It was freezing and no heating.

Turning a villa into a hotel makes every room unique--but our room (Sage, on the ground floor) was appalling. Just in front of the reception, the restaurant and the hotel entrance door, the room's door has no noise insulation, making every conversation between the hotel personnel and guests sound like inside the room. When guests start making breakfast and checking out at 6am in the morning, it's impossible to sleep. The cherry on the cake? The room's door has a glass that cannot be shaded or covered, making it possible for people on the stairway in from of the room to look directly into the room (over the bed!). More: lapidated bathroom with a tiny sink and no mirror--the sliding door had no handle on the inside making it impossible to close. Mattress very uncomfortable. No hotel sign from the road whatsoever, not even on the doorbell, the guard on duty was not present when we come and we had to call the property to be sure to be at the right address. I truly hope that the other rooms are better (the villa is really nice) but a normal hotel cannot have guests play Russian roulette on room selection!

Everything was fine only the tv had no signal. It had all the apps but i guess it was just the weather condition because it happens. But i was there for business so it was good and quiet

Hosts phone etiquette quite unreceptive...felt like it was an interruption...! I stayed at a another location opposite the sites location address...not what i had seen on the site. At check out, she insisted i had not made a payment. She was clueless, and after a hectic 20 min or so...she confirmed the payment had hit her account. WIFI unavailable, TV buffered all the while, couldn't work. Water heater is disfunctional...a very unpleasant experience.

The place was clean but not very private. The receptionist on site kept knocking at the door and intruding. Otherwise, it's a cute little place.

All of the staff were amazing and so helpful to our family! Would highly recommend staying here if traveling with kids.

Wonderful place to stay in Nairobi. Very nice ladies working in the house. Breakfast is okay, eggs or pancakes made on demand. Shower has very little power so that was a bit frustrating. The particular house where we stayed was a bit worn. Bed was good but matrass a bit worn. The pool in the garden looked nice but is rather small and the filter stopped working so it got greener by the day.... We got what we paid for! Would consider staying here again for sure but hope they fix a few things to make the stay even more pleasant. Laundry is washed without asking, we were then (to our surprise) charged for this when checking out. Which was a very small amount, but still, would have been good to ask/inform guests.... all in all we were very happy and felt very much at home!
