I recently stayed at the Sunbird Capital Hotel over a 3 week period and couldn't be happier, mostly thanks to the friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever encountered. The hotel rooms are more along the line of very comfortable 3 star in the U.S. (with some points of wear) than 5 star, but the atmosphere and service are the best I've experienced for solid business hotels in comparable settings. I'll take clean, comfortable rooms, lovely gardens, solid dining, and friendly, helpful staff every time. Thank you for a great stay!

I had a comfortable stay at Sunbird Capital. Although the rooms are quite old, they are well maintained. The grounds are very well maintained and beautiful, it was a delight to have my evening walks. The hotel is in a safe part of the city so it was easy to have walks and jogs nearby the hotel. I may not have enjoyed the meals for the most part, but the traditional lunch buffet on Thursdays was excellent.

Whilst the staff were generally helpful, our room was small and tired. It was especially noisy during the night due to all the air conditioning units outside (ours wasn’t on) . The swimming pool, although a reasonable size, seem to cater for outside parties and day guests . This was a shame especially as and I found myself hunting for a chair, then losing it when i went for a swim! With many other lodges and hotels in Lilongwe this isn’t a hotel that I would use again.

The Sunbird Capital is a solid home (and office) away from home. The staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are lovely. The pool is clean. Transportation is easily arranged. The cafe is friendly and reliable. My local colleagues were right to advise me to stay here - I'm returning happily for a second stay.

I had a comfortable stay at Sunbird Capital. Although the rooms are quite old, they are well maintained. The grounds are very well maintained and beautiful, it was a delight to have my evening walks.
