I booked this trip 10 months in advance based solely on its high rating, without reading any reviews. As the date approached, I finally started looking through them—and I’ll be honest, the negative feedback had me seriously considering changing our accommodations. I’m so glad I didn’t.
The property was absolutely stunning, and the staff went above and beyond—truly exceptional service. While the food wasn’t five-star gourmet, it was far from the awful descriptions I’d seen; everything we had was enjoyable. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and didn’t feel outdated in the slightest.
I’m genuinely surprised by the number of negative reviews this resort has received. Dreams Playa Bonita exceeded my expectations, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
My only minor complaint is that the room curtains aren’t blackout, so the sunlight comes in fairly early. If you’re a light sleeper or like to sleep in, I’d recommend bringing an eye mask.
Without a doubt, I’d stay here again.

Breakfast and lunch options were limited and not good. Property could use a little updating but was nice. Staff was friendly. Lacked entertainment in the evening compared to other resorts.

Muy bien en general, aunque cometen errores que podrían mejorar. El bar del lobby es lento, a veces tedioso y lento obtener una bebida. Los restaurantes tienen un menú muy reducido, al cuarto día te aburres de comer lo mismo. El personal, no todo, está bien cualificado y entrenado. En las Habitaciones a veces falla el teléfono del servicio de habitaciones, luces que no funcionan y el servicio de limpieza llega a veces muy tarde. Se esfuerzan, pero tienen muchas cosas que mejorar. Me regalaron 200 dólares en descuentos en servicios del hotel el día que ya me marchaba y estuve una semana.

The property was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was accommodating.
When trying to get service in the room it was difficult. Either they didn't answer the phone or they said they were coming and didn't show. I had to go downstairs and complain a few times.
The Oceana and Portofino were good for dinner both with a limited menu that is different from the app. The Market Cafe was Ok and the other buffet by the pool was ok.
The pools were well kept except for the bugs in the pool. They should have come around with a net throughout the day to clear them out.
Usually when I upgrade to the Preferred or Club there is a Butler, there were none. I didn't even receive the Dreams bag.

I was expecting much more from this property. The rooms were outdated. The food was limited and not really that great. A couple of people in my party including myself ended up getting sick with stomach issues. The room that they had downstairs for “nightlife” smelled moldy. I also had to hang up and call room service back multiple times for someone to answer the phone. The furniture on the balcony was very outdated and not comfortable at all. This was probably my least favorite resort of all the places that I traveled. Also the preferred club did not seem worth it since people rarely asked to see your card or what your room number was. The staff was nice which is the only thing saving this place. I would not go there again.

Absolutely beautiful! The property and the layout were just breathtaking.

We stayed for 6 days in April. Resort was lovely but didn't like the fact it was kind of hilly. Well maintained grounds and the staff was courteous. Numerous pools and had one section reserved for adults only.
We've been to numerous all inclusive resorts and the overall quality was good. The food on the buffet could have been hotter but the French and Italian restaurants were excellent.
The ocean water wasn't that pretty blue water you see in Cancun but it was very calm and swimmable.
Overall a solid B rating...good time but won't return.

Restaurants closed due to group. We ate in conference room. Food was sub par and took forever for service. My wife was gluten free and her allergy wasn’t taken serious and she actually never got served for 2 meals. Part time maid service and all the common areas need a good cleaning. Every area was under staffed. We have traveled a lot to all inclusive resorts and this was the most disappointing by far. We will never return.

I thought the staff was amazing, and the grounds, lobby and public areas were well kept. They can improve on the quality of food which was a hit or miss most days. My biggest gripe was my preferred room was very worn & needed fixing up. There were what looked like rust spots on the Mirror, cracks & discolorations on the walls/ceilings and the bottoms/edges of the door were damaged/scratched pretty bad.
