This hotel is around 3km distance from Urbamba village central and road is not kind for human being walking. I took taxi from Ollantaytambo railroad station directly to this hotel as there was no colectivo around Ollantaytambo railroad staion on Sunday noon. Fee is 60 Sol.

This is an elegant new hotel in a fabulous setting along the river. We were very excited to rest and recover there after the Inca Trail. However, the vibe at this hotel is seriously off. It was almost empty (and it's a large hotel), and the staff were stiff and formal. We had to sign a waiver of liability for "flames coursing through the building" before we were shown to our large and comfortable room overlooking the river. We had heard good things about the restaurant, but again, it's a huge almost empty dining room, with odd seating where we were seated across the length of a table from each other - too far to comfortably converse. And the food was cold. We also objected to what felt like extortion - the hotel is remote from town down a dirt road, and every time you try to leave the facility you must pay a fortune for a taxi that the hotel orders for you. For example, the taxi ride to the main road (about 2km) cost 25 soles, compared to 12 soles per person we paid for a two hour ride to Cusco in a colectivo. It's not so bad coming back from town where there is plenty of competition - we paid 6 soles for the tuktuk ride. But once you are at the hotel you are at their mercy. They seriously need to provide a free shuttle to the main road. Likewise, the hotel charged us 50 soles per kilo of laundry, compared to the going rate of 8 soles per kilo in town. And then they sent the laundry into town with us in a tuktuk, for which we paid. Beautiful hotel but unfriendly vibes.

Beautiful location right on a river. The hotel grounds are really outstanding and what makes the place standout. The room was very comfortable and clean, with a (rare for the Sacred Valley) great, hot shower! The breakfast was good and varied and there is really good food in the hotel restaurant. The hotel is about 10mins by car from the centre of Urubamba, away from the hustle and bustle.

The property is very nice. It’s well groomed and a wonderful place to hang out. The pool is wonderful and the spots by the river’s edge are inviting. The “Spa Pool” is a nice option in the cool evenings or windy days but we were charged $20.00 USD to use it on the first afternoon of our arrival. The staff was wonderful for the majority of our stay. Yeti, a very kind gentleman on staff there was quick to help us us in everything we needed. The reception desk is very attentive to arrange transport to other sites and destinations. Now the reservations I have about recommending this place to others? Its location in Urubamba is closed to a lot of sites but it’s a rough 15 minute drive off the paved city street. After seeing what I saw and traveling in the general area, I might recommend Ollantaytambo as a base camp location. Taypikala seems more of a Tour Bus Big Group kind of place. However, it is a beautiful place, nice rooms and a wonderful breakfast

El staff fue muy amable y cordial. El restaurant excelente. No andaba la calefacción cuando estuvimos, nos dieron calefactores eléctricos. Cambiaría las toallas. Las habitaciones muy cómodas y espaciosas.

Probably a 5-star hotel in terms of location and facilities. All staff were individually kind, nice and service minded, but the overall management and coordination seemed a bit lacking in order of a smooth running and operation.

This was by far the best hotel we stayed at in Peru. Middle of nowhere but very good. Do it.

No me volvería a quedar y tampoco lo recomendaría. El servicio desde la llegada Fatal, el según upgrade pésimo, el cuarto olía a baño público, El servicio de los meseros fatal, Lo único rescatable: El Spa (Muy Bueno) y La cena genial Pero de ahí en fuera es una pena, porque es un lugar muy bonito Y te mueres de aburrimiento, porque no tiene Bar y tampoco nada que hacer, porque está lejos de todo. No puedes salir a ningún lado

Muy buen hotel costo beneficio sacrificando un poco lo centrico del hotel a cambio de confort , piscina , areas verdad estar a la orilla del rio es increible. Muy recomendado.

Hotel muito lindo e bem localizado, mas cobra por tudo que se usa, piscina aquecida fogueira etc. Muito chato estar em um hotel desse nível e ter que pagar por tudo

Great service, excellent facilities

Rooms were really nice with comfortable beds. Hotel was very quiet which suited us at the end of doing the Inca trail. Llamas in the garden were a bonus!
