Clean and easy

We stayed in the apartment with kitchen. Towels, cutlery and one pillow cover were not clean. Basically all furniture and appliances were very worn. The fridge was even rusting from the outside. We could not use the stove because the children protection was activated which we could not manage to deactivate. But we would not have used it anyway. The only window did not stay open by itself and was very hard to open and close in general. The view from the window into the courtyard/back of the house was ugly with pigeons and seagulls making noise throughout the night. Generally, the house also has very thin walls. If someone walks on the floor or is in the kitchen, you will hear it. The overall location in the city is very good with parking garage, restaurants and supermarket nearby. But definitely not worth the 160€/night we paid.

We had such a great experience here. Very central, nice staff, had everything we needed thank you for hosting us :)

El desayuno te lo dejan en una cesta en la puerta de la habitacion, para que lo tomes en la habitación o en la salita comun de la casa. No hay recepcion, ni nadie que te pueda atemder durante el día, y solo llegamos a ver al personal de limpieza y al quue entregaba y recogia las cestas

Nice and clean room and good intructions for check-in and very central location, however a lot of nice from cars and peolpe from the streeet which made the sleep nealy impossible.

Wonderful hotel, perfectly located. Surrounded by restaurants and shops and things to do. They will call taxis or arrange things you need. The morning basket of snacks and breakfast was great.

Updated hotel that looks beautiful and has big rooms. It’s kind of like a huge dorm, with shared kitchen and everyone must be on their best behavior because there is not anyone on-site. Unfortunately our housemates came in late and made a lot of noise for a long time. The bedroom was great except the bed was awful!! It creaked and squeaked with every turn and was uncomfortable, like sleeping on a spring. Other rooms may be different, I don’t know. It’s in the heart of town which is nice and it was cheap.

I love this place because it’s right in the center. Very convenient. The small balcony has a view of the promenade. The room was nice and comfortable. The breakfast is delivered in a cute basket every morning. The staff were great and easy to communicate via WhatsApp. I would stay here again next time

I was supposed to be charged for my stay at check in, unfortunately tjey charged me 6 weeks before and blocked 400 Eur. Despite I tried for a refund nobody was talking to me. i called them 5 times, just promisses, the manager did not respond despide promisses. Avoid this hotel..

Great location to walk and enjoy the city. Parking just across the street.

Overall the experience at Casa Ateneu was a positive one The only complaint I have is the lack of communication with staff The code for the entrance was changed in the middle of our stay and we were not told about it until an hour after we had to reach out to the staff An "included" breakfast never arrived, and when we asked about it the message was never responded to These aside, good location, well kept and positive experience.

In einem Altbau. 4 m hohe Räume. Kühlschrank und Küche gemeinschaftlich. War ok. Es gibt auch Schlafsäle in diesem Hotel. Kommunikation mit Hugo per Whatsapp lief gut. Ich war sehr zufrieden, nur die Dusche braucht 5 Minuten bis warmes Wasser kommt

Wir hatten zu dritt die Suite und haben uns hier mitten in der Altstadt sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Kontakt zur Agentur war schnell möglich, sodass man keine Rezeption im üblichen Sinne gebraucht hat.

Posizione centrale e vicina a tutto quello che può servire. Parcheggio lunga sosta molto economico a 50mt. A 10mt dall'inizio dell'sola pedonale. Ristoranti, supermercato, farmacia, ecc., tutto a pochi passi. Consigliata.

Great value for money

We were exhausted after all day and night travel. Arrived early am (7 am)!there was nobody to talk to to allow for earlier checkin, no secure area to store luggage when we go explore city. Essentially guarded luggage by seating in horrible room with no tv, no door. Horrible experience for 7’hours until finally got key after 2 pm. Will not recommend this place to anyone.

Very clean. Air conditioned. Great location. Parking can be a bit tricky. They suggested several free lots nearby. A great Portuguese restaurant next door as well as a fabulous Irish pub. Rooms are a bit small and windows face a sometimes noisy and busy street. Very good shower in a small bathroom. All in all served us very well. it's more of a rooming house than a hotel.

Todo excelente, muy buena ubicación, todo el personal muy amable y servicial, me ayudaron a conseguir taxis, cualquier cosa les escribía y me contestaban casi inmediatamente. La habitación muy amplia y cómoda, igual que el baño privado. Estuve en el Estudio 11, tenía cocina equipada, me salió muy bien porque compré lo que me gusta para desayunar y para la cena había una tienda cerca que vendía comida preparada, el estudio está en la parte trasera, muy tranquilo, la habitación principal tiene un buen clima, sin duda volvería a hospedarme en Casa Ateneu.
