歴史のある建物を利用したホテルのようです。泊まった部屋は広く、クッションが置かれたソファと応接テーブルがあるたリビングスペースとバルコニーがあり、快適な空間でした。卵料理をオーダーで作ってくれ、生イチジクやアボガドなどの豊富なフルーツ、トマトやパンプキンなどのオリジナルジャムも用意されていた朝食もおいしく、何より団体客やファミリー客がいなくてホテルの外も内もたいへん静かだったので満足しています。コンシェルジュはないので観光情報などはレセプションにいる人に聞くのですが、どの方もあまり詳しくなく、かつバスなどはわかりにくいので、あてにせず、自分で情報収集・確認したほうがよいかもしれません。

朝食の美味しさは素晴らしい。部屋は広くて清潔。エアコンの故障にもすぐに対応。

部屋、施設が充実していて、かつ美しく、静かで、快適でした。ただ食堂と外壁を工事中で、少々ですが気を使ったところもありました。ホテルからも迷惑をかけているので夕食のワンドリンクを無料でサービスするとのもうしでがあり、初日の夕食にワイン１本を、次の日の夕食にビール一杯を頼頼んだところ、精算の際、ワイン２1ユーロ、ビール６ユーロ支払を求められていました。頼み方がまずかったのかもしれませんが、初日に言われたドリンクをサービスするとは何だったのか、言った人が精算時に居なかったので確かめられませんでした。でもそれを引いてもホテルには満足しました。

C'est un très bel hôtel, c'est déjà la troisième fois que nous y sommes allés. Nous avons profité d'une grande chambre. Les petits déjeuners sont très variés (sauf le dernier jour où nous n'avons rien eu alors que l'accueil savait que nous partions très tôt). Les serveurs font l'effort de parler Français. Le parc autour de l'hôtel est bien fleuri et entretenu et il y a deux piscines dont une couverte. L'hôtel est situé à 800 m du centre, avec une bonne grimpette mais il semble bien mieux que ceux situés en bord de mer.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful hotel. Everything available on site, but also very easy walking distance to Funchal centre. All of the staff were extremely helpful & friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was wonderful & breakfast was a delicious choice of fresh & cooked food. We would highly recommend this hotel & will definitely be back. It was my partners birthday while we were in Madeira & despite us not announcing this in any way, he was presented with a birthday cake & a bottle of wine, which was a lovely surprise, thank you so much

This was our third stay here at Quintinha São João. It really feels like the most wonderful home away from home rather than a hotel. You're made to feel so welcome and looked after by the most dedicated and friendly staff. I can't imagine anywhere else in Funchal coming even close to this place. And it's all mostly because of the staff too. They can't do enough for you. Everyone from the reception staff to the serving staff to the cleaners and the spa staff made us once again feel so welcomed and went out of their way when it came to being of assistance to us. A special shout out is due to the restaurant staff, especially during breakfast time. The buffet is constantly topped up with fresh food and they're super fast with your coffee/tea and non-buffet orders. I'm sure we will be back for a fourth visit to Madeira in a year or two and needless to say that we will stay here. The loveliest hotel I've ever stayed in anywhere. It feels so odd to call it a hotel because I really do see it as my other home!

The best hotel experience, I have ever had! From the service level to the facilities, the food, everything is amazing! The only small thing is noise from the road and upstairs “neighbors”, but it did not do anything to the overall experience.

In my opinion, the facilities are not five stars, but the service is superb. Everyone tries very hard to make your stay great.

this hotel was beautiful! so much is included in your stay (plenty of the spa services, the games room, the cabinets of books on each floor, the first round of tea/coffee/fridge things in the room, the courtesy buses), and the staff are all so friendly. we quickly realised how lucky we got by choosing this hotel as it was in such a convenient spot (bus stop just up the road, and driving back from town centre would take 5 mins at the most). the only suggestions for improvement, however, are: 1. the smell of the sheets (perhaps more a general problem with dry cleaning than the hotel) as they smelled a little musty even when changed, and sometimes the hoovering wasn't very thorough. used things were, nonetheless, always replaced without fail (used glasses/towels etc.). 2. the lack of knowledge of dietary requirements other than vegetarian/vegan. this is definitely across Madeira, that nobody really knows what halal is unfortunately. but hotels are a big industry so if they knew about it, it might make a difference across the island, like normalising halal butchers or not using pig fat in desserts, etc. having said that, the restaurant staff are extremely helpful - as soon as one of them found out we can't eat the meat/alcohol, he made sure we steered clear of menu items that contained them or asked the chef for alternatives. so we really appreciated that. Madeira isn't very racially/religiously diverse so the friendliness of the staff really made all the difference :)

Établissement très bien situé au calme ( notre terrasse donnait sur un beau jardin) et proche centre-ville. Le personnel est très agréable. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel.

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable avec un personnel très disponible mais avec une grande discrétion. Nous avons adoré les soirées au bar à écouter chanteuse ou pianiste dans une ambiance douce et apaisante. Les petits déjeuners sont extras et les enfants ont apprécié de pouvoir choisir une part de gâteau pour le goûter au bord de la piscine. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. J'y retournerai volontier.
