Great location, easy to find and get into but lots of stairs up to my room- no elevator available for those who may need one. If I were to visit again I would probably not stay in Funchal- I didn’t realize it was a cruise ship port, so the streets were always busy. Plenty of good nearby restaurants as a result though. The biggest thing that turned me off about the property was the absence of an on site person- as a result, it felt more like an air bnb… communication through the app was great when I had questions however.

De kamer was simpel en klein maar perfect voor een korte verblijf. De manager was super aardig en behulpzaam!

Great, clean stay in a great location in Funchal. Sergio is a great host. There is no parking but there are garages close by for very cheap 24 hour parking. My only complaint was that the pillows were very cheap and uncomfortable so I used the blanket as a pillow.

Lovely spotlessly clean rooms. On quiet street but minutes away from where the action is. Sergio very helpful and sociable.

Nice bright and comfortable room with everything you could need (hair dryer, fridge, kettle with assortment of teas and coffees, good WiFi connection). Sergio was excellent at keeping us informed and organised a taxi from the airport for us as well. The added bonus of seeing the Optics Museum and spending time reminiscing whilst browsing. The area has plenty of places to eat and drink nearby and it is a short walk down to the waterfront which goes past a nice little park. The only downside was the 4 flights of stairs which we did know about but hadn't really considered after the amount of walking that we did in the daytime! Definitely not Sergios fault but something to be considered if you are walking up and down hills all day long.

The location of Museum House is great, everything is at walking distance. There are also many restaurants, supermarkets and other shops nearby. Sergio is a fantastic host who will do everything to make your stay perfect. The room was neat and comfortable and it had a nice, luxurious shower. The only thing to keep in mind is the fact that it’s an old buidling, which means the doors and windows aren’t sound proof (you can hear other guests come down the stairs etc). There’s also no elevator, but for us that wasn’t a big problem. Sergio can help you book tours around the island for no additional cost, which we liked very much. You also get free entrance to his optical museum, which is great. All in all we recommend staying here!

zentral, sauber, modern eingerichtet, wenn auch keine Suite von der Größe her, aber sehr ausreichend für einige Tage. Jederzeit wieder! Mein Tipp: Zimmer Nr. 6 im obersten Stock mit Blick über die Dächer hin zum mehr und Blick nach hinten hoch zur Oberstadt!

Great location right in the middle of town and Sergio was really helpful with suggestions of where to eat and things to do. Had a front room that was a little noisy if a car went by at night - only happened a few times and we were offered a change of room if it bothered us - but otherwise really comfortable and clean accommodation. And a camera museum built in! Highly recommended.

Great find.....right in the Town centre, Quiet room, clean, modern and very helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Great room in the old part of the city. Location was fantastic. So safe!!!!! Photo museum was a real treat for my husband. It was one of the highlites of his trip. Only complaint we had was the mattress was sooo firm. So if you like that you are in luck. For us not so lucky. But, that said, I would still go back. It was a great find.

Nicely localised in the Museum of Photography just a few minutes walk from the old centre of Funchal. Room was cosy and clean. You can feel the effort of well-maintainance. Unfortunately due to the heavy rain we couldn't have the roof-top room, which probably would have been better isolated from the street noise. The service at the reception is very kind and understanding so we could change our reservation with a refund. We're grateful and appreciate that kind of approach.

Located in a quite part of the town close to the main areas, was away from the hustle and bustle of town life but close enough to step into it if needed. The property is located next to the photographic museum and check in is with the Museum Manager. The property is very clean and newly renovated and immaculate inside. With traditional wooden varnished hall ways and stairs leading to the rooms. The room was very clean and well presented with a nice bed, well laundered and with contrasting white wardrobe and draws and a beautiful new bathroom with multi function shower (rain shower, body multi jets and traditional removable shower head) , basin and toilet. The room has a large Flat screen telly a fan and a Fridge and a great feature for me was the lockable shutters with mosquito screen, allowing for the windows to be left open with screens shut during the day and night. Very quite in the evenings with no outside noise or music and minimal noise from within.
