Beautiful view, friendly staff, clean spacious room and cozy atmosphere. Delicious breakfast with other guests. We enjoyed visiting with them at the start and end of your day. Restaurants are in Funchal which is good exercise to go down then up the hill back or by car. I highly recommend staying here!

Lovely guesthouse with comfortable room and good breakfast. Only drawback is it’s at the top of an extremely steep hill so not easy for walking back up.

Beautiful place to stay. Quiet and comfortable, with brilliant helpful staff. We hope to return!

Bombastico! Die Lage die Lage die Lage. Gab auch Parkplatz (nicht gebraucht) es war ruhig trotz Autobahn in Sichtweite, wunderbar gepflegter Park und Hausambiente. Perfekto.

Krásná budova na pozemku farmy Blendyů, anglické rodiny, kjterá již 200 let na Madeiře pěstuje a vyrábí víno. Pobytem jakoby se člověk vrátil zpět v čase, krásné, romantické.

A truly delightful country house with a beautiful garden and views across vineyards to the coast. The bedroom was very spacious and had a good bathroom. The rooms which are available to relax and eat in were well decorated, airy spacious and nicely furnished. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the two ladies who served them were charming and helpful. There was a well equipped kitchen for the use of guests and the option of a cooked evening meal which we enjoyed one evening. The location above Funchal was really good for us as we enjoyed the peace and quiet, lovely gardens and walk into town. When tired the return walk uphill was more challenging but the taxi option was very reasonably priced. The owner of Quinta Das Malvas was a friendly and hospitable host. He showed us around the Quinta and talked about the buildings and vineyards which was really interesting. It was an amazing privelege to stay somewhere so lovely.

Hvis man er til autentisk hygge, komfortabelt værelse, med alt hvad man behøver når man skal gøre det selv, så er et ophold på denne auinta det rette. Tæt ved centrum, men det stiger stejlt op til boligen, så bus eller taxa hjem fra byen er næsten et must. Mangler måske indkøbsmuligheder og spisesteder i nærområdet, men det råder centrum op på.

Great location, ten minutes down to the centre of Funchal (a bit hard to walk back up, it really is steap uphill). A quiet street, a big garden and wineyard, a beautiful view, several big sitting rooms (with TV here, not in the room), a nice breakfast room. The bedroom was spacious and nicely furnished. The bathroom was a bit oldfashioned, but charming. Just a few rooms, so nice and quiet. We felt as if we had travelled back in time. The gate is narrow and a bit difficult to drive through. The staff is on site only part of the day, so if you arrive after 1 pm, you have to give due notice. We did, and still noone was there to meet us. We had to call hotels.com to get in touch with one of the staff, to get in. The envelope with our keys was made out to another guest, and the recipt we got wasn’t to us, so a bit of confusion there. Otherwise the staff was very nice and helpful. Nice, simple breakfast with delicious homemade jam and pastel de nata. Bread, nice cheese, ham, fruit, some cereals, te, coffee and freshly made orange juice. There are a cat and one or two dogs here.
