ホテルの中には、くつろげるソファーがあり、ゆとりを感じます。日本の箱根の富士屋ホテルや川奈ホテルのような古くて歴史を感じる建物と熟練のサービスが心地よかったです。フンシェルの街まではホテルのシャトルが一時間に一本でていますが、歩いても25分くらいです。お庭も広くて、植物の手入れがよく、お花がきれいに咲いています。お庭の散歩が心地よいです。

高級リゾートだけに、サービスの丁寧さや設備の手入れ等はなかなか行き届いていました。ただ、建物・施設自体は古くからのものを活かしているので、ピカピカ便利とはいきませんが、なかなか風情があり良かったです。まだ４月末でしたが、天気も良くプールの一つは温水仕様なので、プールサイドで寝転んだりプールで水遊びもでき、また海にも降りられるようになっていたので大西洋にもちょっとつかってきました。朝食のビュッフェは、洋食のみですが種類も多く、料理してくれる卵料理の種類も豊富でおいしかったです。スパークリングワインも用意されていて、リゾート気分も盛り上がります。日中もいくつかアクティビティが用意されていて、私達はマデイラワイン教室に参加、無料で3種類のティスティングつき、なかなか良かったです。週に一度、ダンスパーティーのフォーマルディナーがあり、私達は参加しませんでしたが、そこは欧州の上流の方々の御用達、昼間のカジュアルウェアから一転、かなり立派なフォーマルスーツ(黒スーツに蝶ネクタイの方も)に身を包んだ紳士にドレスアップしたレディーが集っていました。実際にダンスされていた方は多くはなかったようですが。Barからの海辺の眺めもなかなかよく、日本から遠く離れたマデイラ島での束の間の休日を、堪能しました。

Incredible hotel! The staff is amazing. So friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The grounds, rooms, and views are stunning. The sea pool is beyond and the diving boards are so much fun. We brought our 8 month old and they provided a crib, stuffed animal, and adorable backpack. The staff was also very sweet with the baby and offered a high chair at every meal. We also really enjoyed the thoughtful nightly gifts during turndown service. Spa also very nice. Would highly recommend. Close to the airport. Incredible experience.

Vi var tre par som bodde fem nätter på Reid's Palace i augusti 2025. Klassiskt hotell med klassisk charm! Vi var alla sex personer otroligt nöjda. Bra läge med fantastisk personal. Maten var otroligt bra. Vi åt på två av restaurangerna. Frukosten är också fantastisk. Trevligt poolområde, enkel tillgång om man vill bada i havet. Jag har noterat att en del gäster klagat på att hotellet är daterat, visst badrummen är inte supermoderna, men det är kvalitet och otroligt välunderhållet. Men om man tror att det här är skall vara ett modernt Dubai hotell, så bor man på fel ställe. Ibland när man bor på fem stjärniga hotell så kan det vara så snobbigt att man nästan känner sig obekväm, så var det absolut inte på Reid's, här kände man sig välkommen och trevligt bemött överallt. Om vi åker tillbaka till Madeira så kommer vi absolut bo på det fantastiska Reid's Palace igen! Tack till alla i personalen för en fantastisk vistelse! Ni förvaltar ert arv väl!

Wonderful place to stay. The terrace is delightful at any time of day. To be honest, I didn't want to leave the hotel for any reason except to hike. The service was amazing and there are many excellent dining options. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful stay in the wonderful Reid's Palace! Beautiful, tranquil surroundings a mere 15-20 min walk from Funchal. We stayed in a Superior Room which was spacious and comfortable. Food choices are varied in the hotel with 4 restaurant options in high season, great room service options and an excellent breakfast buffet. We didn't do the afternoon tea or eat in The William but would consider on a return visit. We couldn't fault the delicious seafood in Brisa do Mare or Italian options in Villa Cipriani, also the new Gelateria is a fun and delicious addition. All served up with a fabulous Madeiran welcome!

Uns hat es außergewöhnlich gut gefallen. Der Service und die stilvolle Einrichtung waren bis ins kleinste Detail perfekt. Vom reichhaltigen Frühstück über die kostenlosen Softdrinks in der Minibar bis zum gebührenfreien Valet Parking und den zahlreichen kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten hat einfach alles gestimmt. Das Zimmer war ein Traum. Besonders schön waren der Pool und der weitläufige Garten mit seiner vielfältigen Blumenpracht die den Aufenthalt sehr besonders gemacht haben. Der gepflegte Tennisplatz war ein tolles Extra. Das Hotel hält wirklich was es verspricht. Die Atmosphäre ist edel entspannt und voller Charme. Der klassische Stil verleiht dem Haus eine zeitlose Eleganz, die man heute selten findet. Gerade die kleinen Details machen für uns den großen Unterschied.

This was the absolute best experience we’ve ever had. From start to finish, everyone was friendly, helpful and warm. The hotel and facilities are top tier. The breakfast is amazing. And the rooms and accommodations are the best you could ask for. If you go to Madeira, this is an absolute must stay!

Style personified. A place steeped in history, full of character with exemplary staff and service. Highly recommended.

Staff superb as expected for the Belmond group. Beautiful location but we knew this as we frequent Madeira each year. Very grown up hotel but unfortunately the Easter crowd started arriving with their children and the whole place changed to a very noisy uncontrollable place. Children running through the breakfast room as though it was a play centre and nothing seemed to be said. We were pleased to be leaving and would definitely suggest you do not book for this time of the year if you want peace and quiet.
