エディンバラが良い都市なので、夏になると、ロンドンとの気温差が5度から10度あるために国内外からリンバに人が押し寄せます。そのため、7月から8月は宿の値段が恐ろしく高いです。そのことを大前提として書くと、このホテルは、地下に部屋があって、数部屋に1つ、トイレとシャワーが共有されています。ただこの部屋が大変寒くて、外は記録を更新するような夏日だったのに、地下に降りた途端に寒くなり驚きました。 部屋の清潔感は、それほど不潔ではありません。ただWi-Fiは、かろうじて入る程度なので、隣の建物のフリーWi-Fiの方がよほどスムーズに見られる位です。おそらくはオーナーさんの問題かと思いますが、初日に鍵を渡されると、その時にチェックアウトのときの説明までされ、後は、何か用事があるときには部屋のドアに張り紙がされます。ただこの張り紙が、工事が入るから、トイレが上の階のものを使っていいとか、夜中の何時から何時までは音を立てるなとか、身に覚えがないことを書かれると、一方的だなぁ、と感じますね。そして上の階のトイレは汚れていて、水の貯水が悪く、前の人のものが残っていたり、自分のものが流れなかったりもしました。 部屋のファシリティーとしては、ベッドと洗面台、クロークとテレビ、またコーヒー紅茶は実質飲み放題です。その辺はとても気に入りました。 場所的にはそれほど悪くないところにあるので、内装を回収すれば、割と人気のホテルになれる可能性があるのですが、オーナーさんがそれを望んでないからこそ、今のような状態になってるんだろうなと思います。なので、トータルで言うと、安いからその他のところは我慢して、寝るだけのための場所と割り切ることをお勧めします。

過去に利用された方から、古くて汚いなど散々に言われたりしていますが、部屋はきれいに掃除されており、とくに不満はありませんでした。また、イギリスのB&Bではトイレやシャワーが共同の場合が多いのですが、少なくとも私が泊まった部屋には、トイレとシャワーがついていました。 他方、朝食はついていませんが、近所にいくらでも安く食べる場所があり、またスーパーなどもありますので、まったく不便はかんじませんでした。ホテルの前には地ビールが飲めるパブもあります。また、部屋にテレビはついており、WiFiも問題なく使えますが、机がないのが少し難点です。 担当者が常駐しているわけではなく、到着時間をメールで事前に知らせることにより、担当者が待機して鍵の受け渡しを行う形になります。一人旅に慣れている人にとっては、経済的に泊まることができると思います。

とにかく、シャワーとかからお湯がでなくなった。それが最悪すぎて他のことはどうでもよくなったし、もうなどと泊まりたくはない。

The shower had very low pressure and the bathroom was so cramped I couldn’t sit on the toilet without having the sink in my ribs and my other shoulder tight to the wall.

We wanted a nice place to stay while visiting Edinburgh for the first time. I shopped H***l.com, and read the reviews, and found this room. They had a large T***advisor sign on the window as you enter so I was like cool, this is going to be good. The good: close to many shops and restaurants. We walked to the Royal Mile no problem the weather was good. The bad: The bathroom was not well maintained it had a strong urine smell and two large holes in the wall. The smell was so bad I went to the store and bought cleaner to spray down the bathroom. We closed the door to the bathroom since the smell would overwhelm the room. There is obvious work plumbing that needed to be completed in the bathroom. We were not comfortable sleeping in the bed and just kinda stayed away as long as we could. I’ve stayed in several cities all over the world and this was the first time I saw just a lack of maintenance so blatant. If the plumbing was fixed and the room was cleaned ,as a traveler would expect, this place could be really a cool place, but it was ran more like anything goes.

Good location, about 20 mins walk to the centre, direct on the bus route. So many shops and restaurants on the doorstep. Spaciuos room and nice victorian style

the room was very clean and tidy and there is no staff available and the all the shops were all near in walking distance.

It was over all a good experience. The location was very good. Room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was small but served the purpose. Overall it was good value for money

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I strongly recommend avoiding this place. The room had a horrible smell from the moment we entered, and it did not go away. We had to sleep with the windows open because the smell was unbearable. The room was dirty, extremely cramped, and so poorly arranged that even reaching the sink was difficult ( I had to go over the bed to it, I’m sure this is illegal ). The shared bathroom was unacceptable: the toilet door did not close properly, the space felt claustrophobic, the shower had almost no water pressure, and the floor was covered with wet bath mats. Plus, the walls were so thin that at night I could hear my neighbour snoring and couching, as well as people nearby screaming till 2 am. Overall, the stay was extremely uncomfortable, unhygienic, and far below any reasonable standard. I would never stay here again.

It was in the chinese quarter, national park very close.. everything was fine, but very cold all night.. the room was only Luke warm at ambout 5pm.. No way, I’ve turning the heat up and then it went off at 7 pm and didn’t come back on until the following morning..

Cheap & clean perfect for an overnight stay. Plenty shops, places to eat and bars near by.

Good, but not the best. Clean enough but it definitely need refurbished in some parts (locks, shower room, furniture). The separate shower room made things a bit mode uncomfortable. I've got assigned a basement room that was not stated during the booking, but still had a window as the building is on a sort of a hill. The receptionist was very kind and explained everything you need to access the property. Not crowded area but all you need is there: 20 minutes walk from the old town, bus stop right round the corner.

Good location but the toilet seat was broken.

Chambre en sous-sol calme pour une nuit, salle de bain privée à l’extérieur. Thé et café à disposition dans la chambre! Bien accueilli et explications par le propriétaire excellentes. Proche du centre-ville bien desservi même à pieds. Facilité de trouver le bus pour aéroport.

Having booked a single room with a shared bathroom, it was a pleasant surprise to get a twin room with its own bathroom.

The property was clean and cozy. Love the table in the room … a place to sit down to enjoy a meal or simply hot tea and coffee.
