The whole place was just perfect for our post-Xmas get away. Very kind, thoughtful staff who always went the extra mile. Special thanks to Becks and Angus who helped us enormously when our car broke down in the area. Their kindness meant an awful lot to me and I really was stuck. Food - especially the breakfast options - was very tasty and the staff clearly work very hard.

Spotless room and extremely comfortable bed. Another fantastic stay at the boat. I stayed with my 2 year old grandson and they couldn’t do enough for us. After a day out exploring it was super to come back to a warm compromise And have a delicious meal. Breakfast is Lao a real plus. Staff are just amazing, love them all! B thank you!

Quaint little place right off the River Dee in Aboyne. They have taken care to make sure you have all the modern amenities, but also retain a pub style cafe at the front of the inn. The staff were very kind, the food was amazing, and the beer was cold. I have been here almost 2 weeks and this was one of the best places I have stayed. Strongly recommend if you are passing through Aboyne. If you don’t plan on going to Aboyne, you should reconsider given the shine of this little gem…

This is a fantastic clear well maintained hotel. Absolutely loved my stay, the food drink and staff were fantastic. The breakfast is one of the best.

We have stayed at The Boat Inn at least 5 times now. We just keep coming back! A very professional set up and extremely comfortable. Staff so obviously want you to have a good time and will do all they can to ensure that you do. Rooms are very clean and beds so comfortable. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, though it would have been good to see more vegetarian options on the menu. Breakfast is excellent. Aboyne is a very good base for exploring Deeside, Speyside , Stonehaven and Donside and Aberdeen.

Staff were friendly and helpful food and drink were lovley and reasonable. Room very comfortable smelt lovley all you needed

Was not expecting this place to be so good! Friendly staff, lovely rooms, excellent food. Maybe it was only the days I was there but the only little issue I had was the amount of flies in the restaurant area. Definetley needs taken care of. Other than that I couldn’t say enough about this place!

great Inn

Notre hôtel coup de coeur de notre road-trip en Ecosse ! Il se trouve que nous l'avons choisi pour deux raisons. 1/ il est à 30min en voiture du château de Balmoral, où nous avons passé l'après-midi. 2/ il date des années 1700 et il ne nous en fallait pas plus. Cela dit, nous avons dormi dans l'extension, le boat house, à l'arrière du bâtiment, derrière le parking gratuit (où il y a des bornes pour véhicules électriques). On a super bien dormi, pourtant nous étions craintifs à l'arrivée car cela ne semblait pas très bien insonorisé mais tout le monde était vraiment calme et nous n'avons rien entendu la nuit. Evidemment, il est possible de réserver une table dés l'arrivée pour y manger le soir, et c'était excellent pour un très bon prix, avec un petit train électrique le long du plafond qui fait le tour du restaurant pour ravir les enfants (et les plus grands). Le petit-déjeuner était inclu, et c'est à la carte avec différentes possibilités. Nous avons opté pour le porridge à la pomme et nous sommes vraiment régalé, avec du café, du jus de pomme, des toasts et de la confiture. Un moment hors du temps avec un personnel aux petits soins. Je comprends mieux la réputation de ce Inn, et je suis ravie de pouvoir contribuer aux bons avis !

We stayed here for 2 nights in the boat house. The room itself was beautifully decorated and the food in the restaurant was fabulous! We loved being able to take a walk after dinner on the river each night.

I'm surprised this hotel gets the good reviews it does. We stayed in the newer building out back and it seemed the quality of a newer budget hotel, walls are paper thin and you can hear every person coming/going talking etc. Bathroom is the smallest we have had on this trip and water ran right out of the sink onto your feet if you accidentally turned it on to high. Bed was comfortable, breakfast was good and staff was excellent.

It was a clean and comfortable hotel. The only thing I was not so keen on was the very dark paint on walls in bedroom. But that is just personal taste and definitely not a criticism

Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and very good - taste and service. Room was fine but no temperature control so it was a little cold at times and a little warm at times. Overall will come back again.

First time staying at The Boat. Definitely will be back soon. Very friendly staff, lovely comfortable room and a fabulous breakfast made it great value for money.

staff were great. Catering was very good (we were there for a wedding reception.) Friendly atmosphere.

As usual I had the most incredible stay. Becks and her team are the best, thank you for a really comfortable stay. Breakfasts are incredible!!!! ❤️
