Lovely Oceanside property. Great staff. We stayed in a loft room which gave a little extra space. Nice balcony overlooking the pool and ocean. This hotel is situated on a coral reef so there is really no sandy beach and not suitable for swimming. However it is a short walk to the main Passekudah beach.

This is a stunning resort, with excellent service and beautiful surroundings. It's a shame that the tourist industry in Sri Lanka is suffering but everyone is very welcoming and we were grateful for the peace and quiet at anilana. The beach bungalow we stayed in was exceptionally clean, spacious and comfortable. We had an amazing view of the ocean from our bed! Bottled water, replacement tea and coffee and room cleaning was offered twice a day. The WiFi is good throughout the resort. All of the staff were really friendly, professional and helpful, but particularly the waiting staff, who really took pride in their work. Thank you for making our stay memorable and for arranging a surprise romantic dinner for us! We enjoyed all the food we had at anilana. Breakfast was excellent and we would recommend the barracuda fish and the biryani from the main menu in particular. The beach immediately outside the hotel is quite small and rocky, and the stretch to the right on the hotel is not kept clean, with quite a lot of plastic wash up, but both the beach past this (kallkudah) and to the left (passikudah) are awesome. Hotel was good. I booked the hotel through hotels.com, I booked the hotel for 4 people / 2 rooms / BB basis. When i visited the hotel the reception said you have only booked the 2 rooms for 2 people so u have to pay another 60 doller suppliment because i have 4 guests to check in. Unfortunately I had to pay another additional 60 USD, because if i cancelled the booking with hotels.com, hotels.com will reduct the full payment from my credit card. On that time i had the chance to book two rooms for 4 people with BB basis for just 27000 RS with taxes. Unfortunately i didnt want to cancel the booking so I will get charged by your side. So anyway i am not happy with your service your system should be more user friendly. But i booked the 2 rooms for 4 people. But reception said it has only booked for 2 people, so i had to pay 38100.00 with all the additional costs. And please check the attached documemt you msg says no need double check your booking is placed correctly and enjoy your stay.

Hôtel magnifique, reposant, cadre idyllique. Piscine spectaculaire où nous avons passé beaucoup de temps et autour de laquelle il est tellement agréable de se détendre. Personnel très pro, agréable. Cuisine du restaurant excellente.

Der Empfang im Hotel war sehr herzlich. Das Chalet mit Meerblick richtig großzügig und sehr schön eingerichtet. Das Hotel ist mehr auf Klasse statt Masse ausgerichtet. Gäste werden dort nicht abgefertigt, sondern tatsächlich betreut. Da die ersten Tage außerhalb der Saison waren gab es zum Frühstück und Abendessen a la carte. Das war ganz ok. Die Auswahl an den Tagen danach in Form eines Buffets jedoch um einiges besser. Dennoch war das Essen auch hier nur ok. Man konnte sich kostenfrei Fahrräder leihen, zu jeder Zeit war jemand ansprechbar. Der Service war hervorragend und sehr freundlich. Dennoch gibt es auch einige Kritikpunkte: Eine Tour über das Hotel buchen sollte man vermeiden, da dies später nur zu Diskussionen führt über den vereinbarten Preis. Man wollte am Ende (wenn es für europäische Verhältnisse auch nicht viel ist ) plötzlich 15 Euro mehr haben. Der Preis hatte sich vorher schon drei mal verändert. Dann ist die Klimaanlage im Chalet so angebracht, dass sie die ganze Nacht einem ins Gesicht pustet. Kein schönes Gefühl, da ist schlafen ohne tatsächlich noch angenehmer.

Hotel OK. Food not good. The beach is narrow and dirty. Not like the pictures at all. Read the reviews carefully before choosing this. There is nothing to do nearby. Ok for a one night stop on a journey up the coast, but not for a weeks holiday.

Stayed with two teenagers- excellent wifi, lovely pool, really great mocktails, air conditioning works, and expansive breakfast buffet. They were super happy. That means the whole family had a relaxing beach holiday!

We stayed in chalet very private. Nice pool well maintained. Restaurant I won't say that great. Morning breakfast ok. but not many choices. Same for dinner so 2nd day we went to another resort restaurant. I stayed in another hotel walking distance from this hotel last year much better and cheaper. That is where I went for supper on day 2. I went by the reviews and wanted to try a different hotel with different experience but the previous hotel is much better and cheaper.

We stayed in 2 cabins with our teenaged kids for 3 nights, buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are awesome. I visited Eastern part of Sri-Lanka after 32 years, it was an experience. I was worried about the weather in the Eastern part during December but Weather was cool and no heavy downpours. We did enjoyed the pool and invited few of our relatives for lunch.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit Blick auf den Pool. Es war sauber. Das Hotel Personal was wirklich nett und bemüht, uns einen angenehmen Aufenthalt zu bieten. Es gab eine Poolbar. Diese war aber nie besetzt. Wir hatten mit dem Essen leider Probleme. Einmal war das Brot des Burgers nicht gut. Das Personal hat sofort reagiert. Jedoch hatten mein Partner und ich doch schon Magenprobleme immer nach dem Essen. Wir hatten Bed&Breakfast gebucht. Abends also für das Dinnere gezahlt. Wir sind nicht super anspruchsvoll. Aber das Essen war mittelmäßig und dafür viel zu teuer. Der Pool war das Highlight. Die gesamte Anlage sehr schön. Kaum Gäste da, daher vermuten wir das Problem mit der Küche.

It was a very nice resort for quite relaxing vacation.. wifi was very poor and needs to be fixed.

Nous avons séjourné 4 jours dans cet hotel, qui est de loin supérieur aux autres hotels de la ville. Le service, le restaurant, la chambre avec vue sur la plage et la piscine sont parfaits. Un très bon séjour sur la côte est.

Our experience at Anilana was beyond exceptional. It is a very beautiful place and nicely maintained. We went there for our anniversary and they arranged a romantic candle light dinner on the pool. I have to admit that was one of the best dinners I've ever had in my entire life. Food was just scrumptious. Chef has paid a very detailed attention to the flavors and the look of the food. The presentation of the food was just beautiful. Food was beyond gourmet, every bite has a splendid and exotic flavor. The waiter who saved us was great. He was very decent and polite. He made sure we enjoyed our dinner in every possible way he can. He was awesome. Other people at the restaurant were very nice too. While everything was exceptional at Anilana, I think the Front office manager can be better. Maybe a little improvement from his side would make Anilana perfect.
