I can’t start explainig how amazing were the three days we spent in Clive Garden. We spent 10 days travelling around the island and we wanted to finish the trip in a quiet place. We could not have chosen a better place.
The hotel is amazing, the staff is always taking care of you and very friendly.
The beach was empty, we spent the three days with long walks and enjoying the sunshine!
The only thing that I would say to improve is that the first day we were only offered a very short menu with only pasta or rice. That was changed for the other two days so that was good but perhaps it should be clear since the beginning that you have other options.
Last night they prepared for us an amazing fish that we enjoyed while watching the sunset, truly amazing :)
Our room was perfect, and the private pool was very refreshing for the very hot hours that you can’t be on the sun.
We will definitely come back!

It is a very high quality hotel comprising Bungalows, with huge beds, large flat screen TV with BBC News channel, fridge, safe deposit box, coffee making machine.
Some Bungalows have a LARGE private internal jacuzzi, plunge pool. Others an outside, but not visible to others, plunge pool. There is a restaurant with food cooked to order and next door is a small beach cafe. Beers are around £2 a pint in either. (2019)
This is a quiet place immediately on the beach. You can eat breakfast under an open sided gazebo right overlooking the beach and watch local fishermen haul in their catch. This is a beautiful, natural place with very few tourists, but everyone is friendly and helpful and if you want to enjoy Sri Lanka’s natural beautiful beaches and endulge yourself with luxury facilities this is the place for you. The swimming pool is 25 meters long and there is a shallow pool for little children. The entire place is immaculate.
Of course you can arrange trips as well. Or walk into the local village of Wadduwa where there are ATM’s and a railway station.
One of the nicest places I have stayed and excellent value for money

The perfect spot for a quick relaxing get-away. This intimate hotel (10 or 12 rooms) has good-sized room with a king bed and a twin bed futon chair. The service was very personalized with our meals delivered to our room at our request. There is a nice lawn with good soft grass and a long pool with an attached kids pool also. But the best part was our own private pool, with a roof, so we could keep swimming even during the downpours of the rainy season (my only complaint, which is very minor, is that I would have liked brighter lighting in the private pool). As the name indicates, it's very garden-like with each room set back from the central walkway by a lovely garden area. Less than 90 minutes from central Colombo, I highly recommend it for a weekend getaway. Most or all of the rooms have private pools, some an indoor square pool about 2.5 feet deep, perfect for kids, and with jacuzzi jets against the wall with the bench, and some an outdoor round pool with jacuzzi jets. Seemed very new. Nice menu with items like a watermelon prawn salad, tuna steaks, pasta dishes and local curries. I plan to go again.
