キャンディの中心地からトゥクトゥクで10分くらい、400〜500ルピー。 道中、キャンディの街を見下ろせます。 ホテルの造りは木がたくさん使われていて温かみがあります。 共有スペースの雰囲気が大好きで、ほとんどの時間をそこで過ごしました。 家族経営なので、ホームステイ気分が味わえます。 朝と夜ごはんは先に頼んでおけば、500ルピーで食べられます。レストランで食べるごはんより美味しかったです。お母さんたちの笑顔がかわいくて顔を見るたび、ホッとしました。 大きなリゾートホテルとは違った滞在が楽しめます。最後の日は淋しくて泣きそうになりました。 ※オーナーがツアーなど勧めてきますが、初めにきちんと断れば問題ありません。

Das Hanthana House ist ein wenig vom Stadtzentrum entfernt auf einem Hügel gelegen. Die Lage ist optimal, da die Stadt sehr laut ist. Mit dem Tuktuk kommt man aber schnell ins Zentrum. Die Zimmer sind schön, gepflegt und sauber. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Aussicht auf die Hügellandschaft, was sehr schön war. Das Essen zubereitet von den Gastgebern war fantastisch, es gab auch immer ein reichhaltiges Frühstück. Die Unterkunft ist für den Preis unschlagbar!

This modern accommodation is reachable via a 15 min TukTuk - Ride from Kandy Center (~300-400 Rupee). When we arrived we were welcomed by the super nice host and his wife with a fruit drink and a sandwich. What makes this place truly special is not only the amazing view but the Homestay experience. The owner gave us a free upgrade, tips for the city and ordered us a very good TukTuk - driver (400 Rupee) to the city. Besides the great complimentary breakfast, there‘s also the option for a typical Sri Lankian dinner (7$, quite pricey but definitely worth it!). The dining room is next to the kitchen, so we could have a nice talk with the owner‘s wife who is the chef. The room is clean, has mosquitoes nets and is very comfortable. Furthermore, the private bathroom is modern and hygienic. Additionally the balcony is very nice. Extra Tip: Next to the house is a beautiful view point reachable in a 20 min. walk from the house. Ask the helpful owner about it, it’s an amazing point to look at the sunset (Don’t forget your flashlights for the way back though..) We would definitely recommend this accommodation and want to say thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Very homely personal attention from Pathi and Suba and their staff. Delicious home-cooked meals prepared in their large family kitchen. Rooms very chic, beds incredibly comfortable. Bathroom amenities also great.

We had a lovely stay at Hathana House. The rooms are very spacious & the views are great. It’s not walking distance from Kandy, however it’s not far & about $2 CDN in a tuktuk to the town. The hosts made a delicious curry for dinner and provided a great breakfast in the morning!

The hotel located at the hill of residential area, about 15-20 mins to center Kandy. need to have a good vehicle to climb up to the hotel. have a good view to see the green mountains and hear many birds sing in the morning.

It was the perfect place to start my trip in Sri Lanka. The place is clean and rooms are spacious with a well functioning AC. The food they serve is great, home cooked meal feeling. As this was my first stay in Sri Lanka, they help me organized better my trip, and went out of his way to help me get a window seat at the train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella and this was priceless.

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Hanthana House. Nestled in the hills, each room has a great view of the surrounding greenery. The host was welcoming from the minute I arrived. The home cook dinner was one of the best meals I had in Sri Lanka. The host also helped arranged for a driver and guide to Dambulla and Sigiriya. My guide, Ayesh, was super knowledgable, extremely patient, and a safe driver.

Une très belle maison située dans un environnement calme. Un accueil chaleureux par les hôtes. La maîtresse de maison prépare une cuisine familiale typique très bonne que ce soit pour le petit déjeuner ou le dîner. La chambre très propre donnait sur une grande terrasse avec vue sur la nature. L’emplacement nécessite un moyen de transport pour visiter Kandy.

Our overall experience was mediocre. If not for the service of two employees, it could have been worse. The owner was interested in our ranking more than the service they provided. There was bed linen hanging outside our room to dry. The bathroom is sub par, and there were cockroaches in the cupboard. When told about the spiders, he did not seem to care much about it. However my ranking of the facility was purely because of the exemplary service provided by the kitchen and service staff, Kusuma and Nuwan respectively. They were exceptional. Overall this facility has a lot of room for improvement to reach the level a hotel or even a home stay.

Friendly hosts and yummy meals! Small room but had everything we needed. No tea and coffee making stuff but the hosts happy to provide! Very long windy drive to get there and the view was ok but not amazing! Would stay somewhere closer to town next time!!

Room is clean and bathroom is reasonably big. Our room has a big balcony and good view over the hill. The house is big with a room balcony for yoga. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located furthest at the end of the road. A little difficult to find at night and can only be accessed by car. We really like the place overall.

Great kitchen and host. Host is friendly and helpful. Local travel knowledge is extremely helpful for us. The location of the place is also far away from all the buzz. Serene!

Magical, jammed pack but very energizing and culturally rich.

Lovely newly built rooms with great view over the hillside. Family feeling and super helpful owners. It’s not within comfortable walking distance from the city center so you’ll most likely need to take a tuktuk (approximately 400lkr) just ask the owners for help ordering one.

Bodde här i 2 nätter. Boendet ligger på en höjd ovanför Kandy. Området är lugnt med vacker utsikt. Det är ganska långt om man ska promenera ner till själva Kandy men transport med tuk tuk ordnas lätt. Ägaren är tour operator och ordnade med en hel dags rundtur med tuk tuk som tog oss till flera sevärdheter och utsiktspunkter. Han ordnade även resa till Ella till hyfsat pris. Boendet är relativt nybyggt så det ser fint ut. Rummen fina med sköna sängar, finns fläkt och välfungerande A/C. Dusch med varmt och kallt vatten. WiFi fungerade bra. Balkong finns. Vi bodde högst upp och hade fin utsikt. Vissa rum längre ner har troligen inte lika bra utsikt. Ägarna/personalen var trevliga och väldigt serviceinriktade. Frukost ingick i priset och var bra, dock inte riktigt lika bra som de andra ställena vi bott på. Den bestod av liten frukttallrik, stekt ägg/enkel omelett utan fyllning, toast, smör och marmelad samt kaffe/te. Vi åt 2 middagar här och det var väldigt gott och billigt. Frun i huset är intresserad av matlagning och lägger ner mycket tid på att få det bra. Hin gör allt från grunden. Om man vill handla något eller äta på något annat ställe måste man ta sig ner mot Kandy. Skulle tänka oss att bo här igen om vi återkommer till Kandy igen

We had a lovely stay at Hanthana House. Pathie and his staff were charming and helpful without being overbearing or pushy. They gave us good advice and helped us to plan trips. A little out of Kandy but for us that was more pleasant

We had a wonderful stay !the hotel is very quiet ...lovely clean air !food home cooked ....probably the best we had in Sri Lanka ...all your plans can be arranged from here ....good drivers .....and a very freindly host and family ....we even saw a small deer from our balcony !.....would definitely go back to visit Kandy and the area around ....and stay here. !
